Description

The Director of Operations is a senior administrative leader responsible for the strategic oversight and execution of all non-clinical operations for Canopy Village, a residential and community-based therapy program, serving youth and their families. This role ensures that the organization's administrative infrastructure, facilities, and operational systems are efficient, scalable, and aligned with the needs of clinical service delivery.

The Director partners closely with executive and department leadership to build, standardize, and continuously improve operational systems that support high-quality care, organizational growth, and a consistent therapeutic environment across all service settings.

Operational Leadership & Strategy

Provide strategic leadership for administrative operations across residential and community-based programs.

Design, implement, and continuously improve operational systems, workflows, and infrastructure to support effective service delivery.

Identify operational risks and implement proactive solutions to ensure continuity and efficiency.

Administrative Systems & Infrastructure

Oversee and direct core administrative systems, including office operations, communication workflows, and internal coordination tools.

Lead selection, implementation, and ongoing improvement of operational and administrative systems (e.g., scheduling platforms, communication tools, tracking systems).

Program Operation & Cross-Functional Coordination 

Oversee non-clinical logistics that support service delivery, including scheduling infrastructure, space utilization, and program flow.

Establish and oversee systems for procurement, inventory management, and distribution of supplies across residential, office, and community-based settings.

Risk Management & Operational Integrity

Develop and implement organization-wide risk mitigation strategies related to operations, facilities, and administrative systems.

Oversee agency insurance programs, including liability, property, vehicle, and workers' compensation coverage; ensure appropriate coverage levels and policy compliance. 

Serve as primary liaison with insurance brokers and carriers, managing claims, renewals, and risk assessments. 

Maintain systems that support compliance with regulatory requirements, licensing standards, and organizational policies.

Facilities & Environment Management

Provide strategic oversight of all facilities, including residential homes, offices, vehicles, and program spaces.

Project Management for facility projects on Canopy Village Property 

Compliance, Quality, & Performance 

Establish and monitor operational quality standards, ensuring readiness for audits, inspections, and accreditation processes.

Regularly report on operational performance and risk indicators to executive leadership.

Contracts, Vendor & Volunteer Operations

Provide strategic oversight of contracts, vendor relationships, and volunteer coordination to ensure alignment with operational needs and service delivery goals. 

Oversee the coordination and integration of external services (e.g., maintenance, technology, transportation, and program supports) into daily operations. 

Establish structured processes for volunteer coordination, ensuring activities are appropriate, well-supported, and aligned with program needs and organizational policies. 

Supervisory Responsibilities

Direct oversight of operational and facility staff; Operations Coordinator, Facility Manger, and Food Manager.

Executive & Governance Support

Support executive leadership with operational planning, organizational initiatives, and strategic projects.

Coordinate logistics and administrative support for CV and CVF boards and leadership activities.

Maintain organized systems for operational documentation related to governance and organizational oversight.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required, Bachelor of business preferred. 

Excellent organizational skills and attention to details.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
