Role Description
As the Director of Marketplace Expansion, you will lead Recom's strategy for launching and growing our brand partners across Amazon International and emerging ecommerce marketplaces. Supported marketplaces include Amazon Canada, Mexico, the UK, the EU, Walmart, Target, TikTok Shop, Mercado Libre, and other emerging ecommerce platforms. You'll evaluate new marketplace opportunities, develop go-to-market strategies, and build scalable processes that enable profitable expansion across global selling channels.
We'll rely on your marketplace expertise, strategic thinking, and financial acumen to evaluate new opportunities and guide decisions on where and how our brand partners should expand. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience across multiple ecommerce marketplaces who understands the operational, financial, supply chain, and regulatory considerations required to successfully launch and scale brands internationally.
Responsibilities
• Own marketplace expansion strategy across Amazon International and emerging marketplaces.
• Own marketplace growth, profitability, and operational performance across international and emerging sales channels.
• Lead marketplace launches from financial evaluation through operational execution.
• Develop assortment strategies that maximize revenue, profitability, and operational efficiency.
• Oversee catalog creation, listing quality, and marketplace readiness across all supported channels.
• Establish scalable processes for marketplace onboarding, inventory management, and seller account operations.
• Assess emerging marketplaces and develop expansion recommendations based on financial, operational, and regulatory considerations.
• Partner with Procurement, Operations, Finance, Logistics, and Brand teams to support successful launches.
• Develop KPIs and executive reporting to measure marketplace performance, launch success, and operational health.
• Resolve marketplace operational issues affecting catalog health, inventory accuracy, and fulfillment.
• Continuously improve processes that support scalable international and omnichannel growth.
Minimum Qualifications
• 7+ years of experience operating selling accounts on Amazon, Walmart, and Target.
• 5+ years of experience with Amazon International marketplaces, including Canada, Mexico, the UK, and the EU.
• Strong understanding of marketplace fee structures, including referral and fulfillment fees.
• Understanding of regional regulatory and CPG requirements across multiple international markets.
• Experience with marketplace analytics and strong financial acumen.
• Experience managing inventory within a warehouse management system (WMS), ERP, NetSuite, or similar platform.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience operating selling accounts on TikTok Shop and Mercado Libre.
• Background supporting multiple brands across diverse product categories.
• Knowledge of warehouse operations, distribution, and supporting systems.
• Experience using data and reporting tools to drive operational decisions.
