Main responsibilities:

The Director of Human Resources - Supply Chain & Manufacturing is a strategic HR leadership role responsible for setting and executing the human resources agenda in support of Albertsons Companies' Supply Chain operations across the Eastern half of the United States and all Manufacturing locations enterprise-wide. This leader will have matrix oversight responsibilities for a team of HR Business Partners embedded within Supply Chain distribution centers and Manufacturing plants, ensuring these teams deliver consistent, high-quality HR support that enables operational excellence and business results.

This role partners closely with senior Supply Chain and Manufacturing leaders to translate business priorities into people strategies that strengthen workforce capability, drive a positive associate experience, and reinforce a strong safety and performance culture. The Director will focus on building healthy talent and leadership pipelines, enabling associate growth and development, and ensuring compliance with all applicable labor, employment, and regulatory requirements across a large, multi-site, hourly and salaried workforce.

As a key member of the Human Resources leadership team, this role will champion an engaged, high-performing culture across Supply Chain and Manufacturing operations and ensure the organization is equipped with the talent and leadership capability needed to meet current and future business demands. 

The Director of Human Resources - Supply Chain & Manufacturing will be responsible for:

HR Strategy & Business Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to senior Supply Chain and Manufacturing leaders, ensuring people strategies directly enable business goals and operational results
  • Partner with executive leaders to understand operational priorities, workforce needs, and site-specific challenges across the Eastern Supply Chain network and enterprise-wide Manufacturing footprint
  • Translate business strategy into actionable HR plans that support growth, productivity, and operational performance
  • Represent the HR function in Supply Chain and Manufacturing leadership forums, providing insight and counsel on organizational and workforce matters
     

HR Business Partner Team Leadership

  • Serve as the primary HR strategic partner to Supply Chain and Manufacturing senior leaders, including Vice Presidents, General Vice Presidents, and site leadership teams, aligning people strategies with business objectives, operational priorities, and long-term organizational goals.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a geographically dispersed team of HR Business Partners supporting Supply Chain locations across the Eastern United States and Manufacturing sites nationwide
  • Establish clear priorities, performance expectations, and accountability standards for the HR Business Partner organization
  • Build team capability and ensure consistent, high-quality HR service delivery across all supported locations
  • Foster collaboration and best-practice sharing among HR Business Partners across regions and site types
     

Associate Experience & Culture

  • Champion initiatives that create a positive, engaging associate experience for hourly and salaried associates across Supply Chain and Manufacturing operations
  • Partner with site and functional leaders to strengthen a culture of safety, respect, inclusion, and performance
  • Drive engagement strategies that improve associate satisfaction, retention, and site-level morale
  • Ensure associate concerns are addressed proactively and that HR maintains a strong, visible presence within operational locations
     

Talent & Leadership Pipeline Development

  • Build and sustain healthy talent and leadership pipelines to support succession planning and long-term operational continuity
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, and Learning & Development teams to support recruiting, onboarding, and development of frontline and leadership talent
  • Identify high-potential associates and leaders and support development plans that enable career growth and internal mobility
  • Support workforce planning efforts to anticipate staffing needs across a large, multi-site operational network
     

Associate Growth & Development

  • Enable career pathways and skill-building opportunities that support associate progression within Supply Chain and Manufacturing operations
  • Partner with business leaders to identify capability gaps and align development resources to close them
  • Support the deployment of enterprise learning and leadership development programs at the site level
     

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local labor and employment laws, as well as company policies and regulatory requirements across all supported locations
  • Partner with Legal, Labor Relations, and Compliance teams to proactively manage employment risk within Supply Chain and Manufacturing environments
  • Oversee consistent application of HR policies, investigations, and disciplinary practices across the HR Business Partner network
  • Monitor and respond to evolving regulatory requirements affecting distribution and manufacturing operations
     

Program & Initiative Execution

  • Lead strategic HR programs and transformation initiatives across Supply Chain and Manufacturing, aligning people strategies with business objectives and workforce priorities.
  • Partner with Operations leaders, HR Centers of Excellence, and key stakeholders to drive organizational growth, leadership capability, and business performance.
  • Champion cross-functional collaboration to deliver scalable people solutions and successfully implement enterprise and business priorities.
  • Leverage workforce analytics and organizational insights to inform decisions, measure impact, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on talent, culture, organizational effectiveness, and workforce planning to support future business needs. 
     

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience:

Required Experience

  • 10 plus years of progressive Human Resources experience, including experience supporting Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Distribution, or other large-scale, distributed operational environments
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing HR teams, including HR Business Partners supporting multiple, geographically dispersed locations
  • Proven experience partnering with senior operational leaders to develop and execute business-aligned HR strategies
  • Strong track record supporting a large, diverse, multi-site workforce, including both hourly and salaried associate populations
  • Demonstrated experience building talent and leadership pipelines, workforce planning, and succession strategies
  • Solid working knowledge of employment law, labor relations, and regulatory compliance requirements within operational or industrial environments
  • Experience leading through organizational change, growth, and transformation initiatives
  • Experience in retail, grocery, consumer goods, or other large-scale, multi-location organizations preferred
  • HR Certifications are a plus (e.g., SHRM-CP or SPHR)
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively across Eastern U.S. Supply Chain locations and Manufacturing sites nationwide
