Job description

About Rhythm Energy
Rhythm is redefining the retail energy experience through innovation, technology, and customer obsession. We're building a smarter, cleaner, and more customer-centric energy company focused on delivering exceptional experiences while helping customers better manage their energy usage and costs.
We move quickly, operate with high standards, and value people who are analytical, collaborative, and energized by solving complex problems.
About the Role
Rhythm is building the future of home electrification and energy independence. As consumers adopt increasingly sophisticated energy solutions, we have a significant opportunity to help them navigate complex choices while accelerating the transition to a more sustainable energy future.
We're hiring a Director of Growth to build and scale the next phase of Rhythm's growth engine. Reporting to the CMO, you'll own customer acquisition and conversion across a diversified portfolio of online and offline channels, with accountability for customer growth, revenue, unit economics, and return on marketing investment.
You'll lead the strategy for where and how Rhythm invests to grow-determining which channels to scale, where to experiment, how to improve conversion, and how to allocate resources based on marginal returns and long-term customer value.
This is a true builder-and-operator role. You'll partner closely with Brand & Creative, Marketing Analytics, Product, Engineering, Operations, and Organic Growth to identify our biggest opportunities and turn insights into measurable business outcomes.
We're looking for someone who thinks in systems across media, creative, product, conversion, measurement, and customer economics-and who can combine strategic judgment with the willingness to get close to the work.
What You'll Do
Growth Strategy & Leadership
  • Define and lead Rhythm's acquisition and conversion strategy, identifying the highest-impact opportunities to accelerate sustainable growth across brands and lines of business.
  • Own annual and quarterly growth plans, forecasts, and portfolio-level investment decisions, balancing customer volume, marginal efficiency, contribution economics, customer lifetime value, and long-term growth.
  • Partner with the CMO and Executive Leadership on growth targets, resource allocation, media investment, and strategic priorities.
  • Communicate performance, insights, tradeoffs, and investment recommendations clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Build and lead a high-performing Growth organization and agency/partner ecosystem, developing channel leaders and creating a culture of accountability, experimentation, speed, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and apply emerging AI, automation, and growth technologies to accelerate learning, improve decision-making, and increase marketing effectiveness.

Performance Marketing & Channel Expansion
  • Own acquisition strategy and performance across a diversified portfolio of online and offline channels, including Paid Search, Paid Social, Display & Programmatic, Affiliates, CTV, OOH, Direct Mail, creator/influencer partnerships, and emerging channels.
  • Set media mix and budget allocation across direct-response and upper-funnel investments, using marginal return, incrementality, and business economics to determine where to scale, test, reallocate, or pull back.
  • Drive performance against customer growth, revenue, CAC, LTV, payback, contribution economics, and other key business targets.
  • Continuously diversify Rhythm's acquisition portfolio by identifying, sizing, testing, and scaling new channels, partnerships, audiences, and distribution opportunities.
  • Build scalable testing programs across audiences, creative, messaging, offers, landing experiences, creators/influencers, and channels.
  • Partner closely with Brand & Creative to develop high-performing creative and translate learnings across the broader acquisition portfolio.

Conversion, Experimentation & Digital Experience
  • Own the growth roadmap for conversion across websites, landing pages, and acquisition funnels.
  • Prioritize conversion opportunities based on customer insights, expected business impact, and speed to learning.
  • Lead a rigorous experimentation program across user experience, messaging, offers, conversion paths, and site performance.
  • Use quantitative and qualitative insights to continuously improve conversion and funnel economics.
  • Partner closely with Product, Design/UX, Engineering, and Organic Growth to deploy, evaluate, and scale improvements across the customer journey.

Organic Growth Partnership
  • Ensure SEO, AI-powered search/GEO, and organic growth are integrated into the broader Growth strategy and investment roadmap.
  • Partner closely with Organic Growth leadership to connect organic opportunities with acquisition priorities, conversion strategy, content and landing-page needs, and broader customer and revenue outcomes.
  • Ensure paid and organic growth strategies complement one another and contribute to a cohesive customer acquisition engine.

Measurement, Analytics & Growth Insights
  • Define the KPIs and measurement requirements for Rhythm's acquisition and conversion portfolio and establish the operating cadence used to review performance and make investment decisions.
  • Use attribution, media mix modeling (MMM), incrementality testing, cohort and LTV analysis, forecasting, and other advanced measurement approaches to guide channel strategy and resource allocation.
  • Partner with Marketing Analytics on measurement frameworks, analytics infrastructure, forecasting models, dashboards, and decision-support capabilities.
  • Translate analytical insights into clear growth actions, experiments, and investment decisions.
  • Ensure acquisition and conversion initiatives are properly instrumented, testable, and measurable, with a bias toward understanding true incremental and marginal returns.

What You'll Bring
  • 12+ years of progressive experience across Growth Marketing, Performance Marketing, Customer Acquisition, or related disciplines.
  • 5+ years leading teams, functions, or complex multi-channel growth portfolios.
  • Proven track record scaling customer and revenue growth through sophisticated multi-channel acquisition strategies.
  • Experience managing large-scale marketing investments, ideally eight-figure annual budgets.
  • Deep expertise across digital and offline performance marketing, with demonstrated success making portfolio-level investment decisions and opening new acquisition channels.
  • Strong working knowledge of conversion rate optimization (CRO), experimentation, digital customer journeys, and organic growth/SEO.
  • Sophisticated understanding of growth economics and measurement, including CAC, LTV, payback, contribution economics, attribution, MMM, incrementality, forecasting, and media investment optimization.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage analytics, customer insights, AI, and automation to improve growth performance, experimentation velocity, decision quality, and operating efficiency.
  • Strong executive communication and commercial judgment, with the ability to translate complex performance data into clear recommendations and investment decisions.
  • Proven people leadership skills with experience building, developing, and inspiring high-performing teams.
  • Strong cross-functional influence with experience partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Analytics/Data, Creative, Brand, and Operations.

Nice to Have
  • Experience in energy, home electrification, clean technology, or another industry with complex customer acquisition economics.
  • Experience in healthcare, FinTech, consumer subscriptions, marketplaces, or consumer technology.
  • Experience scaling both online and offline acquisition channels within the same growth portfolio.
  • Experience building or significantly evolving a Growth function, operating model, or team.
  • Experience incorporating AI and automation into growth workflows, experimentation, creative development, or decision-making.

We know great candidates may not check every box. If you're excited about the opportunity to build and scale Rhythm's growth engine, we'd love to hear from you.
What Success Looks Like
Within your first 12-18 months, success in this role will look like:
  • Rhythm has a clear, scalable growth strategy connecting acquisition, conversion, channel investment, and customer economics.
  • Customer and revenue growth are accelerating while CAC, payback, contribution economics, and LTV remain central to investment decisions.
  • Rhythm has a more diversified acquisition portfolio, with new channels and growth opportunities systematically tested and scaled based on performance.
  • Conversion improves through a disciplined experimentation roadmap across landing pages, acquisition funnels, messaging, offers, and customer experiences.
  • Growth investment decisions increasingly reflect incrementality, marginal returns, MMM, LTV, and other advanced measurement approaches-not simply platform-reported attribution.
  • Paid, organic, creative, product, and conversion strategies operate as an increasingly connected growth system.
  • The Growth organization has clear ownership, strong operating rhythms, and a culture of accountability, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
  • Executive Leadership views Growth as a disciplined commercial function that can clearly articulate where Rhythm should invest-and why.

Why You'll Love Working Here
  • Meaningful ownership. Lead the growth engine responsible for bringing the next generation of Rhythm customers into the business.
  • Direct business impact. Own decisions that directly influence customer growth, revenue, unit economics, and marketing investment.
  • Build, don't inherit. Shape the team, operating model, channel portfolio, experimentation capabilities, and growth playbook for Rhythm's next stage.
  • Cross-functional influence. Work directly with the CMO and partner closely with Brand, Creative, Analytics, Product, Engineering, Operations, and Executive Leadership.
  • Room to experiment. Test new channels, technologies, partnerships, creative approaches, and AI-enabled ways of working-and scale what works.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits. We offer competitive compensation, annual performance bonuses, unlimited paid vacation, premium medical coverage, and opportunities for continued professional growth.
  • Flexible work environment. Join a collaborative team with the flexibility to do your best work while staying closely connected to the business.

We aim to keep our interview process thoughtful, transparent, and respectful of your time.
