Director of Housekeeping

A skilled nursing facility in the Rochester, NY area is seeking an energetic and highly organized Director of Housekeeping to lead the day-to-day operations of the Housekeeping and Laundry Departments.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong attention to detail who takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily housekeeping and laundry operations and supervise assigned staff.

  • Develop staff schedules, cleaning assignments, and routine/deep-cleaning schedules.

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and infection prevention.

  • Conduct daily rounds to ensure resident rooms and common areas meet facility standards.

  • Train, educate, and support housekeeping and laundry staff.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, infection control, and facility policies.

  • Coordinate housekeeping services with Nursing and other departments.

  • Monitor the proper handling, washing, storage, and transportation of linens and laundry.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Previous housekeeping supervisory or management experience preferred.

  • Healthcare or long-term care experience is a plus.

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Must be dependable, hands-on, and able to work independently.

Salary: $50,000–$60,000 annually
