Global Sales Director

Are you a sales leader who thrives in highly engineered, custom manufacturing environments? Have you successfully led technical sales teams, driven revenue growth, developed future leaders, and built commercial strategies for complex industrial equipment?

A global manufacturing organization in Batavia, NY is seeking a Global Sales Director to lead its commercial organization and drive the next phase of growth across engineered industrial equipment, aftermarket services, application engineering, and representative networks. This role offers a competitive salary range of $167,000–$220,000, relocation assistance, bonus potential, and the opportunity to play a critical role in shaping the future direction of a well-established global business.

This is a highly visible executive leadership role responsible for leading sales strategy, business development, application engineering, aftermarket services, and channel partner relationships. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of technical expertise, commercial leadership, and team development experience within capital equipment, engineered-to-order manufacturing, industrial systems, process equipment, energy, refining, petrochemical, or related industries.

The organization is entering an exciting period of growth, including new product development initiatives, expansion into new markets, and continued investment in commercial excellence.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute global sales strategies that align with organizational growth objectives
  • Partner with executive leadership on long-range planning, market expansion, and business strategy
  • Analyze market conditions, competitive activity, technology trends, and customer demand
  • Drive growth across new equipment sales, aftermarket services, and strategic customer relationships
  • Support product development initiatives and commercialization of new offerings

Commercial Leadership

  • Lead sales, application engineering, aftermarket services, and representative network functions
  • Establish performance expectations, KPIs, forecasting processes, and revenue targets
  • Drive revenue growth, margin performance, and customer satisfaction objectives
  • Build and execute market penetration strategies across key industrial sectors
  • Strengthen customer relationships and expand market share globally

Team Development & Organizational Leadership

  • Recruit, develop, mentor, and lead a high-performing commercial organization
  • Build future sales leaders through coaching and professional development
  • Foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across teams
  • Lead organizational change initiatives and improve overall commercial effectiveness
  • Manage 4–5 direct reports while influencing a broader global sales organization

Customer & Market Engagement

  • Develop executive-level customer relationships

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline required
  • 10+ years of sales leadership experience within capital equipment, engineered products, industrial manufacturing, or related industries
  • Proven experience leading technical sales organizations and managing commercial teams
  • Strong understanding of engineered-to-order manufacturing environments
  • Experience with industrial equipment, process systems, energy, refining, petrochemical, vacuum systems, heat transfer systems, or related markets strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated success driving revenue growth, organizational performance, and customer satisfaction
  • Excellent communication, leadership, coaching, and strategic planning skills
  • Strong business acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, and sales performance metrics
