Position Title: Director of Data & Accountability
Salary/Pay Scale: Competitive
Requirements:
• Appropriate NYS School District Leader administrator certification required. Experience working in a K-12 school district or educational setting preferred.
• Knowledge of New York State accountability, assessment, and reporting requirements, including the Student Information Repository System (SIRS).
• Knowledge of New York State Testing Program requirements, NY Inspires, and Portrait of a Graduate initiatives.
• Experience analyzing and reporting student assessment and performance data, including New York State assessments and local benchmark assessments.
• Experience using student information systems; Infinite Campus experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to organize, analyze, and present data to administrators and instructional staff.
• Experience developing custom reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience providing technical support and professional development to staff preferred.
Description:
Under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction, the Director of Data and Accountability manages the collection, analysis, and reporting of district data to support instructional decision-making and accountability. The director ensures the accuracy and integrity of student information and assessment data, develops reports for district and school leaders, and supports compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements. In addition, the director will provide administrative support to the Office of Student Services by coordinating homeschooling processes, assisting with Special Education data reporting, and managing Synergy high school application activities.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, verify, and submit required New York State accountability reports, including Student Information Repository System (SIRS) submissions, assessment data, graduation cohort reporting, and other state and federal reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate the collection, validation, analysis, and reporting of student, assessment, enrollment, attendance, and demographic data to support instructional decision-making and district accountability requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Information Technology Services to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and security of student information systems and district data in compliance with federal, state, and district regulations.
  • Maintain graduation cohort, enrollment, attendance, and student demographic records to support district reporting and accountability measures.
  • Collaborate with the Registrar to ensure accurate student enrollment records and assist in the preparation and generation of reports.
  • Develop and distribute customized reports, dashboards, spreadsheets, and data summaries for district and building administrators, instructional staff, and school data teams.
  • Analyze student achievement and program data to identify trends and provide information that supports continuous improvement in curriculum, instruction, and student outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the building administrators and school staff to ensure consistent data collection, reporting, and accountability practices.
  • Coordinate the production of report cards, progress reports, class rosters, scheduling data, and other system-generated communications.
  • Support district implementation of New York State accountability initiatives, including Regents reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate district and state assessment processes, including test setup, student data verification, administration support, and resolution of testing discrepancies.
  • Provide technical support and training to administrators, teachers, staff, students, and families regarding student information systems, parent portals, assessment platforms, and data reporting.
  • Respond to requests for student data, statistical reports, and accountability information in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitor data quality through routine audits, verification procedures, and collaboration with school personnel to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and data summaries for district leadership, the Board of Education, and other stakeholders as requested.
  • Participate in district committees and collaborative teams to support data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Remain current on changes to state reporting requirements, assessment regulations, student information systems, and best practices in educational data management.
  • Coordinate homeschooling documentation, including Letters of Intent (LOIs), Individualized Home Instruction Plans (IHIPs), Quarterly Reports, and annual assessments.
  • Prepare and distribute homeschooling packets, communicate submission deadlines and reminders to parents/guardians, respond to routine inquiries, and refer complex questions to the Assistant Superintendent for Student Services.
  • Maintain accurate and organized homeschooling records and documentation.
  • Assist the Office of Student Services with Special Education state data reporting requirements throughout the school year, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Coordinate the Synergy high school application process in collaboration with building administrators and the Office of Student Services, ensuring applications are processed accurately and efficiently.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction and/or the Superintendent.
