General Description
Renewal Falls Recovery Center, opening September 2026 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, is seeking a highly driven and relationship-focused Director of Business Development to lead referral development, market growth, and community engagement efforts.
This role is responsible for building and executing a strategic business development plan that drives admissions, strengthens referral partnerships, and establishes Renewal Falls as a premier provider of substance use disorder treatment in the region. This position will work closely with executive leadership, admissions, and clinical teams to ensure alignment between growth strategy and operational excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to achieve census and growth targets
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with referral sources including hospitals, providers, therapists, case managers, and community partners
  • Identify and cultivate new referral opportunities and strategic partnerships across Iowa and surrounding markets
  • Collaborate with admissions and operations teams to optimize conversion rates and patient experience
  • Monitor referral pipeline, market trends, and competitive landscape to inform strategy
  • Represent Renewal Falls at community events, conferences, and networking opportunities
  • Conduct regular outreach, including in-person meetings, presentations, and educational sessions
  • Track and report key performance metrics including referrals, admissions, and conversion rates
  • Partner with leadership on growth initiatives, including new service lines and market expansion
  • Maintain knowledge of payer mix, program offerings, and length of stay to support strategic positioning

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of business development experience, preferably in behavioral health or healthcare
