Job Summary

True North Goodwill is seeking a creative, organized, and mission-driven Marketing & Development Coordinator to support marketing, advertising, fundraising, and community engagement efforts across our geographic territory in Northern Minnesota and Northwestern Wisconsin. This position plays a key role in increasing brand awareness, driving retail foot traffic and donation acquisition, supporting capital campaigns, and assisting with organizational fundraising and development initiatives. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who can balance creative marketing strategies with relationship-building and project coordination to help advance the mission and impact of True North Goodwill.

Duties and Responsibilities

Marketing & Communications and Community Engagement

  • Coordinate and execute traditional and digital marketing and advertising campaigns for all True North Goodwill retail store locations and mission services across digital, print, radio, social media, and community outreach channels.
  • Develop promotional materials for retail stores and mission services including flyers, signage, social media graphics, email campaigns, advertisements, and fundraising communications.
  • Support donation acquisition efforts through targeted marketing campaigns, donor engagement strategies, events, and public awareness initiatives.
  • Maintain and update website content, social media platforms, and marketing calendars to ensure consistent brand messaging and community engagement.
  • Coordinate earned media and public relations efforts, including drafting press releases, responding to media inquiries, preparing public statements, and serving as an organizational spokesperson with professionalism and consistency in alignment with True North Goodwill’s mission and brand messaging.
  • Track and report marketing performance metrics, outcomes, and trends.
  • Help coordinate internal communications and collaborate across all True North Goodwill departments retail operations, mission, admin, general operations, etc. (training materials, employee newsletter, bulletins, etc.)
  • Ensure all marketing and fundraising efforts align with the mission, values, and brand standards of True North Goodwill and Goodwill Industries International.
  • Support photography, video content, storytelling, and community impact messaging that highlights the organization’s mission and services.
  • Perform additional marketing, communications, and development duties as assigned

Development & Fundraising

  • Assist with planning, coordination, and promotion of fundraising events, donor campaigns, and capital development initiatives.
  • Help cultivate relationships with donors, community partners, sponsors, media contacts, and local organizations.
  • Assist with grant support materials, donor recognition efforts, annual reports, and stewardship communications.
  • Track and report fundraising outcomes, campaign effectiveness, and donor engagement trends.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, Nonprofit Management, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 2–4 years of experience in marketing, communications, fundraising, development, or related fields required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and creativity.
  • Experience managing social media platforms, digital marketing tools, and content creation required.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar marketing/design software required
  • Passion for community impact and commitment to the mission of Goodwill.
