Job Overview

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a committed and spiritually grounded Christian Education Director to lead and oversee our client’s comprehensive Christian education programs.

This vital leadership role supports and enhances the spiritual growth of members of all ages—from children to older adults—through cohesive, engaging, and doctrinally sound programming. The Christian Education Director will provide vision, structure, and leadership across all educational ministries, ensuring alignment with the church’s mission and fostering a welcoming, inclusive environment.

This is a unique opportunity to inspire individuals on their faith journey while strengthening the spiritual foundation of an entire congregation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Christian education curriculum for all age groups.
  • Recruit, train, evaluate, and support volunteer teachers and ministry leaders.
  • Oversee Sunday School, Bible Studies, Spiritual Boot Camp, and educational programming for children, youth, and adults.
  • Coordinate Vacation Bible School, Festival of Ministries, Annual Ministries Appreciation Gala, workshops, seminars, and other special events.
  • Align educational programming with the church’s mission and vision in collaboration with the Pastor and church leadership.
  • Create and manage the Christian Education budget, ensuring proper stewardship of resources.
  • Evaluate all educational ministries and select doctrinally sound curriculum materials.
  • Develop new programs and initiatives to meet the evolving needs of the congregation.
  • Maintain records of Christian Education expenses, enrollment, and attendance.
  • Serve as Chairperson for Ministry Team Leaders.
  • Complete quarterly and annual reports for the Pastor.
  • Meet with members as needed to provide advisement on Christian Education matters.
  • Utilize conflict resolution strategies to promote unity among leaders and members.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Pastor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Christian Education, Divinity, Theology, Religious Studies, or a related field (Administration & Supervision accepted).
  • 2+ years of experience in Christian education, ministry leadership, or related field.
  • Strong leadership, administrative, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated maturity, integrity, and high ethical standards.
  • Experience developing and implementing educational programs.
  • Knowledge of current trends and best practices in Christian education.
  • Proficiency in educational technology and multimedia tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to develop long-range strategic plans for spiritual formation across all age groups.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, evaluating, and nurturing ministry leaders.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with church leadership and volunteers.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Ability to work onsite Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM.
  • Active commitment to Christian faith and teachings.
  • Ability to work with children, youth, adults, and senior members in a ministry setting.
