Job description

Job Title: Head of Business Analytics
Reports to: CEO
Location: Remote, USA
About Libsyn
Libsyn (Liberated Syndication) is an industry-leading, independent podcast hosting and advertising platform that empowers creators to share their voices with the world. Libsyn is dedicated to simplifying the creative process - from publishing to distribution and monetization to measurement - enabling creators to connect with audiences on all major platforms while monetizing their efforts. we’re reshaping how advertisers reach their target customers by connecting brands with their desired audience.
At Libsyn, we’re on the lookout for innovative problem-solvers, collaborative thinkers, and self-starters who thrive in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment. Our team members, and our leaders, enjoy the freedom to think and act like entrepreneurs, always with our creators and advertisers top of mind. Together, we’re not just a workplace - we’re creating a supportive community that values diverse perspectives and fosters growth, empowering each other to deliver exceptional value to the podcasting world.
Job Summary
We are seeking a Head of Business Analytics to own Libsyn’s business analytics and performance insight. This is a senior individual contributor role responsible for defining, validating, and communicating the metrics that guide executive and operational decision-making.
Libsyn’s data spans multiple internal systems and third-party vendors. This role requires comfort working in a fragmented data environment, aggregating and validating data directly from multiple sources to answer high-impact questions.
This is not a backward-looking reporting role. You will deliver forward-looking analyses that support product discovery, experimentation, and roadmap decisions. Working closely with the CEO, Product Management, and functional leaders, you will frame the right questions, test assumptions, and interpret signals responsibly. This includes verifying metrics, challenging weak conclusions, and helping the organization avoid confirmation bias and misinterpretation.
This is a hands-on role with no direct reports, designed for someone who thrives in ownership, influence, and execution. You are accountable for ensuring that data presented to leaders is accurate, contextualized, and decision-ready. The impact of your work will be measured by whether leaders ask better questions, make better tradeoffs, and avoid costly misinterpretations of performance signals.

How You Will Make an Impact
  • Own Libsyn’s KPI framework end to end—metric definitions, documentation, governance, and ongoing evolution.
  • Establish and maintain a single source of truth for metrics, including a KPI dictionary and clear logic for how KPIs are calculated.
  • Build, maintain, and continuously improve executive-level and team-level KPI reporting and dashboards that support operating rhythms (monthly/quarterly).
  • Serve as the trusted authority on company metrics, providing clear analysis, insights, and recommendations to leadership.
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights that inform product, business, and operational decisions.
  • Partner closely with Product Managers to define measurement plans for new features and initiatives, including success metrics, baselines, targets and guardrails.
  • Lead experimentation and analysis standards (A/B testing, incremental lift, cohort analysis, retention/funnel analysis) and ensure results are interpreted correctly.
  • Own recurring performance deep-dives on key business drivers: acquisition, activation, engagement, retention, revenue, churn, and unit economics.
  • Proactively identify trends, risks, and opportunities by building KPI monitoring and anomaly alerting
  • Establish standards and best practices for metric creation, reporting, and usage across teams.
  • Enable self-serve analytics by creating repeatable reporting patterns, templates, and “how-to” guidance that scale across teams.
  • Teach and enable leaders and teams to better understand and use metrics, raising overall data literacy across the organization.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Finance, Sales, and Business Development to ensure alignment and consistency in how success is measured.
  • Partner with Data/Engineering on data quality and instrumentation to ensure event tracking and pipelines support reliable measurement.
What We’re Looking For
  • 7+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, data analysis, product analytics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience owning company-level KPIs and reporting in a SaaS or technology-driven environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize data into executive-ready insights.
  • Ability to tell clear, grounded stories with data, translating complexity into insight that busy leaders can act on.
  • Experience partnering closely with Product teams on product discovery, experimentations, and roadmap prioritization
  • Strong product analytics capability, including funnel analysis, cohort analysis, retention/churn analysis, segmentation, and experimentation.
  • Expert-level SQL skills and the ability to work with complex or messy datasets to produce accurate, trusted outputs.
  • Experience building dashboards and reporting systems in modern BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI) with an emphasis on maintainability and clarity.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to teach, explain, and guide others around metrics and data usage.
  • Comfort operating as a senior individual contributor with broad ownership and influence and no direct reports.
  • Strong judgment around measurement integrity—knowing what to measure, what not to measure, and how to avoid misleading conclusions
  • Track record of improving metric consistency and adoption across an organization through standards, templates, training, and enablement.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with subscription and recurring revenue metrics (MRR/ARR, GRR/NRR, CAC/LTV) and unit economics.
  • Experience supporting pricing, packaging, and forecasting decisions with analysis.
  • Familiarity with event instrumentation and product analytics tooling (e.g., Amplitude, Mixpanel) and data modeling concepts.
What We Offer
  • Competitive compensation (base salary plus bonus).
  • Comprehensive health benefits, with employer-paid dental and vision coverage.
  • 401(k) plan to help you build towards your future.
  • Flexible working arrangements, including remote options.
  • Generous paid time off and support for maintaining work-life balance.
