Job Summary
The Director of Auxiliary Services is responsible for transforming the University's auxiliary operations from legacy, contract-managed services into a cohesive, strategic enterprise that advances institutional priorities, strengthens financial sustainability, and enhances the overall campus experience.
Reporting to the AVP for Business Operations, the Director provides leadership, financial stewardship, contract strategy, and operational oversight for a comprehensive auxiliary portfolio, ensuring all auxiliary functions operate as integrated, student-centered, and revenue-generating enterprises aligned with the University's mission and long-term strategy.
Auxiliary Portfolio Oversight
The Director of Auxiliary Services oversees the following auxiliary operations:
  • Dining Services
  • Vending Services
  • Beverage Services (including pouring rights and related contracts)
  • University Bookstore
  • Parking Services
  • Events & Rentals
  • Conference Services
  • Future retail concepts and student-support vending initiatives

Responsibilities
Significant Duties & Responsibilities include: Lead the strategic repositioning of auxiliary services as a core institutional asset supporting student success, campus vitality, and diversified revenue streams. Develop and execute a comprehensive auxiliary services strategy aligned with university goals and Business & Finance priorities; identify opportunities to modernize, expand, or redesign auxiliary offerings to meet evolving students, faculty, staff, and community needs.; Develop, manage, and monitor auxiliary budgets, financial forecasts, and performance metrics across all service lines; advise on auxiliary performance, opportunities, and risk; ensure all auxiliary operations are financially sustainable, self-supporting, and optimized for long-term revenue generation.; Lead contract negotiations, renewals, and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to ensure best value, innovation, and service quality; convert legacy auxiliary contracts into performance-driven, strategically aligned partnerships.; Establish clear service-level expectations, accountability measures, and performance monitoring frameworks for all vendors. Ensure auxiliary services are delivered efficiently, equitably, and with a strong customer-service orientation; implement operational standards, performance indicators, and continuous improvement initiatives across all auxiliary units; address service challenges, operational risks, and escalated issues in a timely and solutions-focused manner.; Ensure auxiliary services enhance campus life, student engagement, and institutional brand perception; collaborate with Student Affairs, Enrollment Management, Athletics, Facilities, and Academic Affairs to align services with student needs and campus programming; incorporate student feedback and data-driven insights into auxiliary planning and service design.; Ensure auxiliary operations comply with federal, state, University System of Georgia, and University policies; partner with Procurement, Legal Affairs, and Finance to ensure contract compliance and fiscal integrity; identify and mitigate financial, operational, and contractual risks across auxiliary services; support audits, assessments, and performance reviews related to auxiliary operations.; Provide leadership and supervision for auxiliary services staff, as applicable; foster a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and service excellence; support professional development and performance management aligned with institutional values, processes, policies, and procedures.
Events, Rentals, & Conference Services
  • Develop and implement strategies to expand conference, event, and rental offerings while maintaining alignment with academic and student priorities. This position will possess direct accountability for revenue growth, margin performance, and long-term financial sustainability.
  • Establish annual and multi-year revenue targets, pricing strategies, and utilization of benchmarks for event spaces, conference programs, and campus rentals.
  • Analyze revenue performance and implement corrective strategies to meet or exceed established financial goals.
  • Lead a centralized events and conferences services model that ensure consistent planning, execution, and financial accountability across all university hosted and external events.
  • Establish standardized operational workflows, service-level expectations, timelines, and escalation protocols to ensure high-quality, predictable event delivery.

Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications include: Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, Public Administration, or related field.; Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in auxiliary services, enterprise operations, finance, or related administrative leadership roles.; Demonstrated experience in contract negotiation, vendor management, and budget oversight.; Strong analytical, strategic planning, and executive communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications include: Master's degree in business administration.; Experience overseeing multiple auxiliary service lines in a public higher-education environment.; Experience transforming or modernizing auxiliary operations for revenue growth and improved customer experience.; Familiarity with University System of Georgia policies and auxiliary enterprise models.
Proposed Salary
The proposed annualized salary range for this position is $111,068 - $123,451 and includes full benefits.
