OVERVIEW
ALO is seeking a strategic and innovative Director of Asset Protection to lead a modern, scalable approach to protecting our people, product, brand, and retail experience across a rapidly growing global footprint.
This role will build and scale a next-generation asset protection function that combines operational leadership, technology, data intelligence, strong partnerships, and brand-aligned execution to reduce risk, improve efficiency, and support growth. The Director will partner cross-functionally to deliver scalable solutions while intentionally moving beyond traditional asset protection models.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy, Technology and Operational Excellence
  • Define and execute a forward-looking asset protection strategy across all locations
  • Implement and optimize systems including CCTV, EAS/RFID, access control, and analytics platforms
  • Integrate emerging capabilities such as video analytics, predictive alerting, and automated reporting
  • Ensure systems are scalable globally while configurable for local market needs
  • Partner with IT and Operations to drive system integration, reliability, and adoption
  • Develop consistent standards, playbooks, and operating practices that support field execution, accountability, and continuous improvement

Global Security Operations and Response
  • Lead the strategy and implementation of a third-party Global Security Operations Center
  • Establish performance standards, SLAs, and KPIs for all external partners
  • Enable 24/7 monitoring supported by effective alerting, triage, and escalation practices
  • Align GSOC capabilities with crisis management and business continuity needs
  • Drive continuous improvement through performance management and audits

Risk, Intelligence and Investigations
  • Build a centralized risk, data, and analytics framework to deliver actionable insights on shrink, incidents, and emerging trends
  • Leverage analytics, automation, and emerging technologies to prioritize risk and enable proactive mitigation
  • Support investigations across internal and external theft, fraud, and organized crime
  • Implement standardized case management and intelligence-sharing practices
  • Partner with Legal, HR, and external agencies to ensure compliant and effective outcomes

Services and Vendor Strategy
  • Lead strategy and oversight of third-party providers including guard services, GSOC partners, and investigative vendors
  • Establish clear accountability, performance metrics, and cost controls
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize vendor performance and scalability
  • Identify opportunities to enhance services through automation and technology

Resource Strategy
  • Design a scalable asset protection resource model aligned to business growth and risk
  • Optimize deployment of internal and external resources across markets
  • Leverage technology, automation, and process improvements to increase team effectiveness and support scalable growth
  • Lead talent development, training, and performance management across the function

Global Scale, Innovation and Differentiation
  • Build a globally consistent framework that supports local market customization
  • Implement risk-based models to align investment and controls with store-specific needs
  • Lead innovation through pilot programs, test-and-learn approaches, and rapid scaling of proven solutions
  • Challenge traditional approaches and continuously improve how asset protection is delivered

Brand-Aligned Approach
  • Ensure asset protection strategies support ALO's premium and elevated store experience
  • Partner with Retail and Store Design to embed security seamlessly into the environment
  • Deliver solutions that are effective, discreet, and aligned with the brand
  • Position asset protection as a value-driving function that supports both protection and performance

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 8 to 12 or more years of experience in retail asset protection, security operations, or related field
  • Proven leadership in building and scaling modern asset protection programs
  • Experience implementing GSOC operations and managing third-party providers
  • Strong understanding of retail risk, systems, and data-driven decision making
  • Experience leveraging analytics, automation, or advanced technologies in operational environments
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence at a senior level
  • Strong business acumen, communication, and leadership skills
  • Experience in premium or high-growth retail environments
  • Global or multi-region experience
  • CPP, PSP, or similar certifications

The base salary range for this position is $165,000-$185,000 per year which represents the current range for the base salary for this exempt position. Please note that actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. As such, on occasion and when applicable, there is the possibility that the final, agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the upper end of the range. Please also note the range listed is just one component of the company's total rewards package for exempt employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, long term incentives, a PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits.
