Job description

Per Diem Security Specialist

Chelsea Place Care Center is currently looking for a per diem Security Specialist.

The primary role of the Security Specialist is to implement the facility’s security program in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and as may be directed by the Administrator, to assure that resident and employee safety can be maintained through appropriate security measures.

Responsibilities:
  • Inspect bags/boxes and any unusual looking items visitors and residents have when entering/exiting the building.
  • Maintain sign in/sign out log. Make sure all visitors and residents sign in and out.
  • Resident gatekeeper, ensuring residents without privileges do not leave the facility.
  • Monitors security system.
  • Ensures security system is engaged and operating correctly.
  • Notifies Administrator of maintenance needs of security equipment
  • Notifies supervisor when stepping away from the work area. This includes the close of scheduled shift.
  • Makes recommendations to Administrator on the improvement of security.
  • Coordinates security functions with other departments as necessary.
  • Notifies appropriate department when special security instructions are received.
  • Report known or suspected incidents of fraud or resident abuse to the Administrator.
  • Makes recommendations to the administrator on security equipment and supply needs of the facility.
  • Stays visible at all times to ensure strong security presence.
  • May be required to work additional hours during emergency situations.
  • Maintain high level of customer service, smiling greeting, and directing individuals to appropriate places.
Qualifications:
  • Must have, as a minimum, one (1) to three (3) years of security experience.
  • Must have training in security procedures.
  • Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, hostile people within the facility.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook and Excel, preferred.
  • Proficiency in English, including speaking, reading, and writing, required.
