Job description

This role requires the ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.

Are you a dynamic negotiator capable of supporting regional and national sales groups? If so, the Director, Legal and Operations role with Spectrum Community Solutions could be right for you. In this role you must work effectively, often under pressure, in a fun but fast-paced environment supporting Spectrum Community Solutions sales teams . This position will primarily work withย  regional and national sales groups including other internal stakeholders to negotiate sales contracts including access and easement issues. Utilize Salesforce and contract tools for all required contract redlines and negotiations. Excellent negotiation, written and advocacy skills required.

How Youโ€™ll Make an Impactย 

  • Actively and consistently support all legal efforts to simplify and enhance the customer contract sales experience
  • Advises legal and sales management on relevant legal matters and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Buildsย  collaborative relationships with sales and operations teams to develop solutions to problems presented including contract interpretation and legal advice
  • Gathers relevant related information and drafts, negotiates, and prepares legal contracts supporting regional and national sales teams, and regional field operations team on a high volume basis
  • Researches legal principles and precedents related to federal and state law and municipal ordinances affecting all legal support including sales contracts
  • Negotiates and drafts business agreements. Meets, trains and mentors business clients to improve and enhance collaborative relationships
  • Interprets laws, rulings, and regulations related to all legal support for sales and field operations. Coordinates and manages outside counsel as needed
  • Keeps informed of industry-specific regulations and ensures that appropriate risk management strategies are in place.

Education

  • Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to State Bar in which Attorney practices

Experienceย 

  • 5+ years experience in general business legal issues in the cable or technology industries
  • 5+ years experience with contract negotiation
  • 5+ corporate in-house experience

Skillsย 

  • Must be proactive and have the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team setting
  • Must possess elevated leadership skills and strong attention to detail
  • Extensive experience with complex commercial negotiations in a commercial and/or government setting, including strong analytical, drafting and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge and experience with counseling a sales organization that works on a demanding timeline
  • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully in person, in writing and by telephone, with a variety of deal participants, including opposing counsel, senior management and business associates
  • Ability to work effectively, sometimes under pressure, in a fun but fast-paced team setting

The base pay for this position generally is between $112,800.00 and $240,100.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
