GENERAL PURPOSE:
The position of Director (Enterprise Architecture) reports directly to the Senior Director of
Enterprise Architecture team and will be based in Dublin, CA. Responsible for driving IT
strategy, roadmap including evaluation, selection and solution architecture (application and
technology) to address needs of the business portfolios (merchants, planners, supply chain, stores,
marketing, etc.). This position will be responsible for managing and providing leadership to a
team of enterprise architects.
Bring deep knowledge of Retail functionalities including digital, marketing, merchandising,
planning, store operations and supply chain operations. Highly visible role with a broad
engagement within Ross IT and business teams as well as externally with technology providers.
In this role, he/ she will be responsible for managing and leading to a team of architects, external
experts and consultants.
The base salary range for this role is $137,400 - $259,050. The base salary range is
dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant
education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of
the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Responsible for defining and maintaining strategic technology roadmap and plans.
Participate in IT 5-year planning and annual budgeting process.
• Provide architecture and technology consultancy for Application and Technology portfolio
planning. Manage the delivery of strategic business, application and technology
architecture on projects to deliver desired business outcomes.
• Supervise other architects in the development of the architecture (application and
technology) roadmap that aligns with the strategic objectives of business units and the
different technology groups.
• With business or IT partner support, manage competing demands through negotiation and
compromise to ensure that the holistic needs of the organization are met. Brings knowledge
of Retail industry best practices and applies that information in discussing solutions that
may address those needs.
• Provide enterprise architecture thought leadership to a cohesive team of solution/ data/
technical architects, external experts and consultants.
• Performs business analysis activities at the strategic, operational, and organizational level;
working with key partners in the continual improvement of processes within the company.
Takes the leadership role in exploring and analyzing new applications in the marketplace,
technology and infrastructure services.
• Ensure work produced by the team is aligned with other Enterprise, Application and
Portfolio architects, providing holistic enterprise solutions.
• Ensure completion of Architectural and project deliverables on time and under budget and
that anticipated business outcomes are achieved
• Provide architectural and technical input for definition, estimation and delivery of projects
• Drive Enterprise Architecture process and evangelize the architecture community of
practice.
• Leads the development of architecture metrics and reporting to evaluate and communicate
the achievement and impact of the Enterprise Architecture function; presents Enterprise
Architecture content to internal and external audiences, including cross-functional
executive leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
• 10+ years of experience in Enterprise Architecture in Retail industry and 15+ years
combined in delivering IT Technologies, Solution architecture, or systems
• Demonstrated Retail Enterprise Architecture experience. Technically competent; able to
supervise enterprise architects, solution architects, consultants and external vendor
resources
• Experience in a variety of application and business architecture areas in Retail domain
(Merchandising, Planning, Forecasting, Supply chain,, Stores, Marketing, Digital, etc),
SaaS/ Package solutions, Cloud platforms, Business capability modeling, Advanced
Analytics, AI/ ML, Gen AI, etc.
• A solid understanding of industry best practices in Retail and Ent. Arch - ARTS, NRF
models, TOGAF, Archimate etc.
• Demonstrated ability to anticipate and handle complex issues, drive negotiations of
solutions and to resolve conflicts
• Demonstrated 5+ years of experience in managing a team of enterprise architects, solution
architects and consultants.
• Demonstrated ability to execute basic financial analysis, such as ROI, and TCO
• Undergraduate degree in information systems, computer science, or a related technical
discipline. Master's degree is a plus.
• Strong analytical ability, judgment and problem analysis techniques
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal and able to effectively operate with
VP and above executives.
• Ability to work with teams that are geographically distributed and work across different
time zones.
• Technically competent; able to supervise and provide leadership to other senior architects
• Some travel may be required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person
meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
This role requires regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction,
meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. However, this
