Job description

Lead the strategic HR transformation across our rapidly expanding fulfillment network, empowering our global trade mission.

The opportunity:

This is a pivotal opportunity to architect and scale the HR function across Flexport's growing fulfillment network. You will partner directly with Operations leadership, driving the strategic transition from a contingent to a full-time workforce. This involves building comprehensive HR capabilities from the ground up in states like New Jersey, Wisconsin, Texas, Georgia, and California. You will tackle complex challenges related to multi-state compliance, talent acquisition, employee relations, and HR program implementation, all while fostering a high-performance culture aligned with Flexport's mission to make global trade easier for everyone.

You will:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive HR strategy tailored for Flexport's Omni (fulfillment) operations, aligning with business objectives and growth plans.
  • Lead the strategic transition from a temporary to a full-time workforce across all fulfillment centers, including legal compliance, policy development, talent acquisition, and employee integration.
  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing HR team across multiple geographically dispersed fulfillment center locations.
  • Ensure robust multi-state compliance for all HR policies, practices, and programs, mitigating risk in a heavily regulated environment and manage claims and adherence to the policies.
  • Partner effectively with Operations leadership to drive talent management, workforce planning, employee relations, and performance management initiatives.
  • Champion and drive culture, employee engagement, and diversity & inclusion initiatives across the Omni network.

You should have:

  • Proven experience leading HR functions in multi-site, large-scale operational environments (e.g., fulfillment, logistics, manufacturing).
  • Deep expertise in workforce planning, talent acquisition, and employee relations for large non-exempt workforces.
  • Demonstrated success building and scaling HR capabilities in new regions or rapidly expanding organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of US labor laws, claim management, and multi-state compliance requirements, particularly in states like NJ, WI, TX, GA, and CA.
  • 12+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • A 'compliance first' attitude to keep our regulators happy and enthusiastic about Flexport since we operate in a heavily regulated industry.

You will get:

  • The chance to build an HR function from the ground up in a rapidly expanding global logistics company.
  • Exposure to complex, high-impact strategic initiatives that directly shape Flexport's operational future.
  • A collaborative and supportive environment where your contributions are highly valued and make a tangible difference.
  • Opportunities for significant professional growth and leadership development within a dynamic People team.
