Clinical Track Professor in Radiologic and Imaging Sciences

Primary Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities for the Medical Imaging and Radiologic Sciences include teaching and service related to a clinical faculty position. Teaching involves classroom, laboratory and clinical courses at the undergraduate level. Service includes administrative and committee responsibilities at the Program, School, and University levels as well as community and professional activities. Faculty are expected to pursue personal/professional development through continuing education, work toward advanced degrees and participate in professional activities that will support and promote the program. Specific responsibilities are assigned by the Director of Medical Imaging and Radiologic Sciences and may include but are not limited to the following:
  • Correlates clinical education with didactic education
  • Coordinates clinical education and evaluates its effectiveness
  • Provides didactic and/or clinical instruction
  • Evaluates students
  • Supports the program director(s) to help assure effective program operation
  • Participates in the assessment process
  • Cooperates with the program director(s) in periodic review and revision of course materials
  • Maintains current knowledge of the discipline and educational methodologies through continuing professional development
  • Maintains current knowledge of program policies, procedures, and student progress
  • Assumes all duties and responsibilities of a Clinical Track Professor in Radiologic and Imaging Sciences

  • Current or previous teaching experience in a University-based medical imaging program.
Meets the following qualifications:
  • Minimum, baccalaureate degree; Master's degree preferred (must complete Master's degree within 2 years of hire).
  • Individuals with a bachelor's degree will be appointed as Acting Lecturer until master's degree has been completed. Upon master's degree completion, the appointment will be updated to Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiologic.
  • Current credentials in ARRT Radiography and/or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • Documented experience in supervision, instruction, evaluation, student guidance and educational theories and techniques.
  • At least two years clinical experience as a registered radiographer and/or sonographer in the professional discipline.
