Job Title: HealthcareProject Architect

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Project Architect specializing in Healthcare Architecture is responsible for the day to day execution, coordination, and delivery of architectural projects within healthcare environments. Reporting to the Managing Director, this role oversees all phases of project development, from initial design through construction documentation, contract administration, and project closeout.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring that healthcare projects are delivered with a high level of quality, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The Project Architect leads the coordination of complex building systems, manages project documentation, and works closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that all aspects of the project align with design intent, operational needs, and applicable healthcare standards.

The role requires a strong understanding of healthcare facility design, including patient care environments, regulatory considerations, and the integration of specialized building systems. The Project Architect is expected to maintain a high level of organization, technical expertise, and responsiveness throughout the project lifecycle.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not include direct supervisory responsibilities. However, the Project Architect is responsible for providing direction, coordination, and oversight of project team members and consultants as part of daily project execution.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The following responsibilities define the core expectations of this role. The Project Architect is expected to perform these duties with a high level of accountability, technical proficiency, and attention to detail.
Project Planning and Execution

  • Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of assigned healthcare projects to ensure alignment with scope, schedule, and quality expectations

  • Oversee the progression of projects from design through construction documentation and project closeout

  • Maintain awareness of project milestones and proactively address challenges that may impact delivery

  • Ensure that all project activities are completed in a timely and organized manner

Design Development and Documentation

  • Direct hands-on drawing production efforts, contributing to the development of drawings, models, and documentation

  • Oversee the preparation of construction documents and specifications, ensuring accuracy and completeness

  • Coordinate, write, and edit architectural specifications to align with project requirements and healthcare standards

  • Ensure that documentation reflects design intent, regulatory compliance, and operational needs

Team Coordination and Collaboration

  • Direct and coordinate the workload of project team members and consultants to meet project schedules and deliverables

  • Facilitate communication between internal team members and external consultants to ensure effective coordination

  • Work collaboratively with structural, MEP, civil, and geotechnical disciplines to integrate all building systems

  • Support a team-oriented environment while maintaining accountability for project outcomes

Quality Control and Technical Review

  • Review architectural documents for coordination with all disciplines to ensure consistency and completeness

  • Maintain quality control throughout all phases of the project, identifying and resolving issues proactively

  • Ensure that all work complies with applicable building codes, healthcare regulations, and industry standards

  • Apply a thorough understanding of the project development process, including construction methods and system integration

Construction Administration and Field Support

  • Perform shop drawing reviews to ensure conformance with design intent and project requirements

  • Participate in site visits and field observations to verify construction progress and quality

  • Coordinate responses to requests for information and address issues that arise during construction

  • Support project closeout activities, ensuring all documentation and requirements are completed

Healthcare Design Expertise

  • Apply knowledge of healthcare design standards, regulatory requirements, and operational considerations to all project phases

  • Ensure that designs support patient safety, staff efficiency, and compliance with healthcare guidelines

  • Coordinate specialized systems and spaces typical of healthcare environments, including clinical, support, and infrastructure areas

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage project responsibilities, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality results

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate, write, and edit architectural specifications

  • Thorough understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, and approval processes, particularly within healthcare environments

  • Strong knowledge of building systems and site requirements across multiple disciplines, including Structural, MEP, and Civil.

  • Highly organized, detail-driven, and conscientious in all aspects of work

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in guiding project teams and coordinating efforts

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex project requirements

  • Technical proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, 3D Studio, FormZ, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Microsoft Office applications.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience, with a focus on healthcare projects preferred

  • Professional licensure preferred

PAY TRANSPARENCY
Where required by applicable law, the pay range for this position is provided in the job posting. Compensation is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, education, internal equity, geographic location, and business needs. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses and or benefits in accordance with applicable plans and policies.
PAYROLL
Employees paid on a bi-weekly basis, consisting of 26 pay periods annually, and is issued in arrears. Direct deposit is available.
