Job description

Responsibilities
The Director for Medical Records is responsible for the planning, organizing, leading, and controlling the activities and functions of Medical Records to effectively provide services for the financial and medical needs of the hospital. Direct oversite of the collection, organization, storage, and protection of patient health data (like diagnoses, histories, test results) to ensure its accuracy, security, and accessibility for healthcare providers, patients, and payers, bridging clinical, technical, and administrative functions while ensuring compliance with regulations. HIM professionals manage Electronic Health Records (EHR), set data policies, ensure data quality for decision-making, and safeguard patient privacy.
This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of AHMC- Anaheim Regional Medical Center and AHMC Healthcare Inc. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the core values of AHMC- Anaheim Regional Medical Center and AHMC Healthcare Inc. The employee shall support AHMC- Anaheim Regional Medical Center's strategic plan and goals and direction of the performance improvement plan. The employee will also be expected to support all organizational expectations including, but not limited to; Customer Service, Patient's Rights, Confidentiality of Information, Environment of Care and AHMC-ARMC initiatives.
Qualifications
Education/Training/Experience
Current RHIA and/or RHIT required
Two (2) years plus of progressive Health Information Management experience and management experience required.
EHR/EMR experience preferred
Experience in an hospital or health care environment preferred
HIPAA & Compliance knowledge and regulatory standards
