A little about the job....

  • Plans, directs and evaluates activities of Health Information Management (HIM) for Coosa Valley Medical Center.  Maintains effective relationships with peers and Medical Staff. 
  • Ensures the privacy of health information. 
  • Develops, modifies and organizes all HIM operational activities, including personnel, process and systems as necessary to support a complete, secure and accurate medical record. Recognizes the importance of the HIM function in Revenue Cycle Management (RCM)

Qualifications for the job...

  • Advanced degree in Health Information Management, Health Information Technology, or Medical Records Administration from an approved college or university. 
  • RHIA and/or RHIT Certification in Health Information Management field are required.  Inpatient and Outpatient hospital coding certification is a plus.   
  • Three to five years' of training and experience in Health information management required.
