Job description

  • POSITION SUMMARY
    • Position Summary:
      • Provides leadership, direction, and administration of all aspects of the health information management Department within the SRHC system. Responsible for record processing and completion, transmission, indexing, abstracting, timeliness and accuracy of acute and ambulatory coding, filing, storage, trauma registry, transcription, retrieval, release of information, suspension process with physicians and maintenance of systems processes. Responsible for the overall management of the health information department activity to include establishment and compliance with policies for the health information function. Represents the health center in all activities related to areas of responsibility. Maintains active communication with health center leadership and staff.
  • POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
    • Minimum Education
      • Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Science or related field or a plan to complete Bachelor's degree
    • Minimum Experience
      • Five years management /supervisory experience
      • Five years medical coding experience
      • Experience with HIPAA regulations preferred
    • Required Registration/License/Certification
      • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
      • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) preferred
