Service Technician - Water Works, a Grundfos Company
Are you a skilled field service professional who thrives on independently solving complex technical challenges with ultrapure water purification systems? Then join us in our mission to pioneer smarter solutions for moving and transforming water, reducing energy consumption, and enhancing quality of life for people.
As our new Service Technician, you will be providing on-site troubleshooting, commissioning, maintenance, and hands-on training for Water Works ultrapure water purification equipment across customer sites in industries including pharmaceuticals, military, and offshore platforms. What you will be doing
As a key part of the Field Service team, you'll create impact by Delivering expert technical support and proactive service solutions that keep critical water purification systems running reliably for customers who depend on them most.
Your main responsibilities include:
  • Perform on-site troubleshooting, commissioning, and preventive maintenance of ultrapure water purification equipment at customer locations
  • Deliver classroom and hands-on training to customers on equipment operation and maintenance
  • Identify and promote proactive, value-added service opportunities that enhance customer outcomes
  • Supervise equipment installations and adjust system settings to required specifications
  • Self-manage daily operations including travel logistics, scheduling, expense reporting, and customer communications
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers while representing Water Works, Grundfos company, professionally

What makes you a great fit
Above all, you are a self-directed, hands-on technical professional with strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, PLC experience, and the confidence to independently manage customer engagements while traveling 80-100% of the time. We would also imagine that you have:
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus technical training, with 4-6 years of electrical/mechanical equipment experience
  • Hands-on experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and ability to read blueprints, wiring schematics, and plans
  • Working knowledge of industrial workplace safety (mechanical, electrical, chemical, fire, and material handling) and preventive maintenance techniques
  • Must be located in the San Francisco Bay area and comfortable with 80-100% travel

It is a plus if you also:
  • Previous knowledge of water purification equipment and processes
  • Experience working in pharmaceutical, military, or offshore platform environments

You'll also be available for travelling up to 220 days per year.

The salary range for this position is $ 80,000.00 - $90,000.00. Individual pay will be determined based on market location and the candidate's profile. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation and benefits package for employees. Total compensation includes paid time off, paid holidays, merit increases, bonuses, and employee stock purchase programs, etc. The salary rates are benchmarked and reflect the target for new hire salaries for the position in this region.
