Job description

Overview
We are seeking a full-time Retail Marketing Associate 2 at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for partnering with various sales and marketing leadership to develop point-of-sale (POS) and/or in-store marketing materials for global distribution that help consumers to easily locate products, understand the product's features and benefits, and result in sales and revenue.
Essential Functions
  • Fully understands assigned retail account strategies, objectives, store requirements and logistics, and fully leverages the available in-store marketing opportunities while remaining on budget
  • Demonstrates knowledge pertaining to critical timeline path including concept development, facilitates internal/external program approvals, and oversees production/implementation of materials in stores
  • Ensures Garmin's products/services are presented in a manner that is consistent with Garmin's global brand requirements
  • Ensures a cohesive campaign experience between customers in store and online solutions
  • Works closely with internal cross-functional teams to execute the programs on time, within budget and ensures they are dealer compliant
  • Works closely with external merchandising suppliers and their manager to co-develop concepts, approve marketing materials, negotiate costs, and ensure accurate, on-time, quality materials
  • Fully knowledgeable regarding the retail landscape for assigned retail accounts and conducts retail market tours, shares findings, proposes incremental business opportunities and takes corrective actions when needed
  • Assists with onsite meetings/conference calls for assigned retail accounts with their Manager, Sales Director and/or Sales Manager
  • Attends sales meetings, trade shows or promotional events as needed
  • Must possess the ability to bend, twist and lift up to 55 pounds while using safe lifting techniques

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Business, Project Management or related field OR equivalent experience
  • Must possess a minimum of 2 years' work experience in marketing, operations and/or project management
  • Demonstrates proficient use and knowledge of marketing and project management tools
  • Ability to create/maintain cohesive relationships with customers, suppliers, and Garmin associates
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Jira, Tableau and Oracle or related software
  • Must be positive, detail/quality oriented, organized, analytical, team oriented and a driven problem solver, multi-tasker, and self-starter with the ability to prioritize in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment with proven success in solving difficult problems
  • Demonstrated ability to understand retail merchant terminology
  • Must possess the ability to bend, twist and lift up to 55 pounds while using safe lifting techniques
