Job description

The Opportunity
Beast Industries is looking for a Director of Apparel Design, who is equally creative and a strategizer. This isn't a role for someone who wants to delegate the creative work and only manage a team, ย it is a role where you will be driving and creating it.
You'll own the full design vision for our apparel line, with a focus on kids' lifestyle products and an eye toward adult categories. Working closely with the Head of Product, you'll set the seasonal direction, collaborate with the whole product team, and produce original garments built to last. ย

Responsibilities
Design & Development
Lead original silhouette design across kids' and adult lifestyle and athletic categories, from initial sketch through production-ready tech pack
Produce detailed technical sketches that communicate construction intent; panel layouts, topstitching, stitch lines, seam placements, so developers can execute without guesswork
Own the construction pages within tech packs, bringing a level of technical rigor that reduces back-and-forth with factories
Work directly with the Graphic Designer on placement, scale, and colorway for graphic applications, ensuring the apparel and graphics read as a cohesive product

Strategy & Creative Direction
Build and manage the seasonal design calendar, planning the full year of apparel development with clear milestones
Lead trend and design research to inform product direction and keep the brand ahead of the market
Monitor the apparel landscape in streetwear, sportswear, & youth fashion industries, to translate emerging trends into product decisions. You'll recommend which specific styles, silhouettes, fabrics, and details we should be executing each season
Present seasonal concepts and design strategy to senior leadership with clear creative rationale and commercial context
Establish scalable design processes as the team grows

Leadership & Collaboration
Manage and develop the design team, providing clear creative direction and building toward a stronger team over time
Partner with product development, sourcing, and marketing teams to ensure designs are technically viable and delivered on schedule
Communicate proactively with the Head of Product, flagging risks early, aligning on priorities, and operating with a high degree of autonomy

Qualifications
7+ years of apparel design experience with a strong portfolio in lifestyle and athletic categories; kids' wear experience is required
Deep fluency in garment construction - you understand how a garment is built and can document it precisely for a factory
Demonstrated ability to build or contribute to tech packs, particularly construction and technical specification pages
Experience art directing designers and integrating graphic applications into apparel design
Strong seasonal planning instincts - you know how to sequence a calendar and manage multiple categories simultaneously
A self-starter who operates well without heavy oversight and communicates clearly up and down the org
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop, and has worked in a PLM systemย

Bonus Points
Experience at a DTC, digitally native, or creator-led brand
Background designing for both kids' and adult markets
Experience hiring or scaling a small design team or working with contractorsย
Knows and understands the MrBeast consumer
