Job Description:
As a Fleet Dispositions Consultant, you'll play a key role in executing Southwest's fleet strategy by managing aircraft and engine retirement activities and supporting asset disposition transactions from negotiation through completion. You'll advise Senior Leaders on lease negotiations and final agreement administration, develop reporting and analysis to guide decision-making, and serve as the primary point of contact for external counterparties during aircraft and engine deliveries and redeliveries. Working closely with Tech Ops and cross-functional Teams, you'll oversee asset transitions, resolve delivery and documentation discrepancies, and provide updates to Executive Leadership on transaction progress and performance. Your work will have a direct impact on Southwest's financial results and long-term fleet strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Analyzes and reviews fleet strategy decisions for retirement and lease return requirement implications including identifying and justifying negotiation alternatives to maximize negotiated outcomes and value capture for aircraft lease returns, aircraft sales, and other agreements as directed by Leadership
  • Represent Southwest Airlines in interactions with Lessors related to technical requests including annual audits and physical inspections
  • Represent the Fleet Transactions Team in Airworthiness Directive, Aircraft Maintenance Planning and Engine Planning meetings to provide direction on leased/retiring assets
  • Identify and coordinate the provision of appropriate aircraft records and report to aircraft lessors/buyers/consignees
  • Coordinates activities across internal Teams to ensure timely completion of asset disposal/transfer transactions
  • Monitor industry trends and market appraisals to develop insights that support aircraft leasing and disposition strategies
  • Train and assist other members of the Team in the proper execution/use of processes, procedures, and systems utilized by the department.
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of contractual principles and practices
  • Skilled in completing analyses on multiple, complex scenarios and to develop and support recommendations to Senior Leadership based on this analysis
  • Skilled in collecting, organizing, visualizing, and assimilating data, including turning raw data into meaningful information
  • Skilled in communication with a variety of settings and with cross functional teams and various position levels
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks of varying priorities and ensure all deadlines are met in accordance with the expectations and timelines of project Stakeholders
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Leaders, other Team Members, and other Departments

Education
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED

Experience
  • Advanced level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:
    • Contract negotiation principles and practices
    • Aircraft technical documentation requirements
    • Project management
    • Interpersonal Communication Skills

  • Preferred Experience
    • Commercial experience, including contract management, contract negotiation, or related commercial activities.
    • Experience with the technical aspects of airline operations, including aircraft records, engineering, maintenance, or related technical functions

Pay & Benefits:
  • Competitive market salary from $103,750.00 per year to $115,300.00 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
