Position Summary:
The University of Northern Colorado (UNC) Office of Admissions seeks an organized, collaborative, and student-centered professional to serve as Coordinator of Events within the Events & Visits team. Reporting to the Associate Director of Events and Visits, this position supports the planning, coordination, and execution of on- and off-campus recruitment events designed to engage prospective and admitted students, families, and community partners.
The Coordinator of Events is responsible for managing the operational logistics and day-to-day coordination necessary to deliver high-quality admissions events aligned with enrollment goals and institutional priorities. This role works in close collaboration with the Associate Director, contributing to event development and implementation while ensuring consistent execution across multiple programs and audiences.
While strategic direction, budget decisions, and long-term planning remain under the guidance of the Associate Director, the Coordinator exercises professional judgment in coordinating logistics, managing timelines, and facilitating collaboration among campus partners and stakeholders. Over time, the position may assume primary coordination responsibility for select events while continuing to operate within a collaborative planning model.
A successful Coordinator demonstrates strong organizational skills, attention to detail, inclusive practices, and a commitment to continuous improvement through assessment, feedback, and data-informed decision-making.
Job Duties:

- Serve as the primary logistical point of contact for campus partners, presenters, and participating departments by coordinating schedules, communicating expectations, and ensuring preparedness for event participation.
- Execute assigned event plans within established timelines, resources, and operational guidelines; escalate strategic or budget-related decisions to the Associate Director as appropriate.
- Partner with the enrollment marketing and communications team and central marcomm to prioritize exceeding student and family expectations via relevant and user-friendly event registration forms, comprehensive registrant communication plans, program schedules and print materials, presentations, etc.
- Work proactively with admissions colleagues to communicate internal staffing needs and submit advanced requests; responsible for confirming adequate scheduling of student ambassadors and admissions staff members for campus tours and general event support needs.
- Responsible for ongoing relationship management with key stakeholders; sending timely and succinct communications and calendar invitations to academic and campus partners, speakers and presenters, community contacts, etc. to invite and confirm participation and communicate event information and insights.
- Proactively integrate the concepts of social justice, equity, and inclusion throughout all aspects of the position and your work in support of admissions goals and values, UNCs mission to serve and lead, and our designation as an HIS.
Evaluation & Assessment (10%)
- Compile, analyze, and distribute post-event performance metrics including registration trends, attendance outcomes, and participant feedback to inform continuous improvement and future planning.
- Maintain documentation of event procedures and workflows to support consistency, scalability, and operational efficiency across recruitment programs.
- Prepare and present to key stakeholders annually a Campus Event Summary detailing specific event goals, outcomes, success rates, impact data, and considerations for improvement.
- Responsible for continuous management of event supply inventory; submit timely requests for event supplies, print materials, promotional items, etc.
- Seek ways to improve; find opportunities and maintain documentation in order to continuously approve processes for event setup, coordinated execution, and cleanup efforts. Develop increasingly efficient planning resources, staffing procedures, and communications plans.
Other Responsibilities (15%)
- Assist with efforts as requested to assist with campus visits (programming outside of admissions events) and the Student Ambassador Program.
- Comply with all systems and data entry requirements in order to help maintain accurate student records, event metrics, and quantified outreach efforts.
- Seek knowledge and opportunities to develop and advance skills within areas pertinent to the role and your interests or areas of growth.
- Support and mentor staff in learning and developing event planning skills; facilitate recruitment team members in assisting with or leading event coordination as opportunities arise.
- Provide support for day-to-day operations as needed as part of the Office of Admissions team, including assisting at the Admissions Office front desk and presenting information sessions to students, families, community members, and campus constituents.
- May assume primary coordination responsibility for designated events as experience and proficiency develop, under the guidance of the Associate Director.
