JOB SUMMARY

Client Relations Art Directors at SlideGenius are responsible for intake, oversight, and creative leadership toward successful project outcomes. They possess exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a deep passion for design principles. While their expertise spans overall design, their experience in creating PowerPoint presentations is unparalleled.

In addition to the regular Art Director duties, Client Relations Art Directors are also trusted partners to our clients—leading creative conversations, offering expert verbal consultation, and driving high-impact visual solutions. This role functions as a bridge between project management, design teams, and clients, ensuring all necessary creative inputs are aligned and adaptable to shifting client needs. Due to the client-facing nature of this position, the Client Relations Art Director must demonstrate both professionalism and flexibility, responding effectively to urgent or evolving project requirements and video calls.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Art Direction
  • Brainstorm, suggest, critique, and demonstrate design and layout concepts that exemplify SlideGenius design standards and fulfill client expectations.

  • Accurately translate verbal and written client feedback into actionable design direction.

  • Communicate client needs clearly and promptly to the design team, even when project requirements shift unexpectedly.

Client Communication
  • Lead and participate in client-facing video calls and creative consultations as the primary creative voice.

  • Lead creative discovery activities, including project exploration and feedback through calls or written communications, early-stage briefs, and internal pre-design planning.

  • Build relationships with clients and individual stakeholders within your project portfolio.

  • Maintain a polished, professional appearance and a clean, distraction-free environment for all client-facing video interactions.

Design Facilitation
  • Conduct thorough quality control reviews of all designer outputs before client delivery, ensuring art direction is followed, brand standards are upheld, and client expectations are met.

  • Guide designers through project execution to model high creative standards, ensure client satisfaction, and achieve optimal project outcomes.

  • Creates comprehensive call notes that effectively communicate client needs and expectations in a manner that is easily understood and actionable by others.

Project Operations
  • Accurately evaluate the project scope and time needed to execute each component.

  • Ensure timely and budget-conscious completion of all assigned projects.

  • Update internal time and project tracking software accurately and consistently.

  • Meet or exceed individual and team KPI goals, especially those related to client satisfaction, response time, and design quality.

  • Actively contribute to daily scrums and leadership meetings to drive alignment toward team progress and project priorities.

  • Track project workload and timelines in real-time, staying flexible and responding swiftly to changes or escalations.

  • Contribute to project/account/portfolio reviews and brand resource development/maintenance to continually improve team operations.

Team Development
  • Collaborate proactively with cross-functional teams, including project managers, sales, training and development personnel, and fellow creatives.

  • Perform development responsibilities for the design team, including tasks for internal feedback, contributions to performance reviews, and career coaching.

  • Contribute to regional or team events, fostering a strong and connected creative culture.

  • Lead and motivate others by setting a good example through best practices and professional conduct.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a confident and professional presence in client-facing interactions.

  • Demonstrated experience consulting with clients, guiding conversations, and delivering thoughtful creative solutions under shifting timelines.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (mainly Illustrator and Photoshop).

  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft PowerPoint and presentation design, a must.

  • Strong understanding of core design principles and brand systems.

  • Experience creating collateral across a variety of formats, industries, and brand identities.

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects under tight and sometimes fluid deadlines.

  • Proven leadership skills, including delegation, mentoring, and performance coaching.

  • Effective time management, organizational habits, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong customer service mindset, especially in high‑stakes or fast‑paced client interactions.

  • Ability to remain calm, focused, and professional when dealing with evolving or urgent project requirements.

  • Prior agency or client services experience is strongly preferred.

  • Committed to continuous improvement, team growth, and process optimization.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Graphic Design or a related field.

  • 3–5 years of graphic design experience, with a strong portfolio showcasing PowerPoint work.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience designing presentations in PowerPoint.

  • Preferred 1–2 years of experience leading creative conversations with clients and/or managing multiple creative projects.

  • Previous experience leading a team of designers and providing structured feedback.
