Job description

Job Summary:
The Security Officer reports to the Deputy Executive Director. The Security Officer has open or closing responsibility. He/She provides information for Brother Benno resources to Foundation guests. Also provides education and instruction on Brother Benno rules of conduct and policy and enforces as required. When necessary, provides crowd control and maintains vehicle access point security. He/She is responsible for monitoring camera security. Interfaces with law enforcement as required. This position is an hourly position and will sometimes require duties outside normal work hours.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Trauma-informed, humanity first approach focused on safety, respect, and collaboration with the community
  • Uplift the community with a dignity -centered response and patience
  • Is the Foundation's liaison with First Responders
  • Conducts daily patrols and maintains data records
  • Updates guest member software
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • BSIS security card is required.
  • Minimum 1 year work experience in related field or equivalent.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently interface with vulnerable guests, staff, and volunteers.
  • Software skill in MS Office including Excel, and Word.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work outdoors with some indoors.
  • Must be able to communicate in English, Spanish fluency is a plus.
