Job description

What Security contributes to Cardinal Health Security implements measures to safeguard the company's assets from circumstances and threats that would cause harm or loss. Security ensures the credentialing of visitors, provides surveillance of the company's facilities, enforces regular security standards and procedures, responds to security crises, and manages relationships with security vendors. Job Summary The Cardinal Health Global Security team aligns with business goals to proactively mitigate risk, protect key assets, and ensure effective incident response.

The Security Advisor is a key component of the Global Security Team and assists the Regional Security Director in identifying risks to the organization and helping to develop programs to mitigate such risks. The Security Advisor is responsible for ensuring programs are implemented consistently and uniformly across his or her area of responsibility. Responsibilities Supervision and Guard Force Governance (30%) Manages day-to-day activities and audits the performance of site contract security officers (e.g., Securitas)

Manages vendor administrative functions, including performance feedback, operational issues, revisions to documents such as post orders and quick-reference guides, and other responsibilities as needed. Develops and implements Security Officer procedures to set clear expectations and improve effectiveness, in partnership with site and Global Security leadership. Manages training of assigned contracted team to meet specified security and site requirements.

Enforces strict entry/exit and gate control procedures for carriers and visitors. Develops and accurately reports monthly metrics regarding security incidents and key security/personnel metrics. Facility Security & Security Coordinator Standard Work (40%) Partners with site management to ensure compliance with established Global Security policies, procedures, and standards.

Partners with site management to develop, maintain, and execute site-specific Security plans. Identifies security risk, threats, and vulnerabilities of the assigned facility and takes effective corrective steps to minimize or eliminate them in partnership with site and Global Security leadership. Executes daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual Security Coordinator Leader Standard Work (LSW).

Performs routine Facility And Security Technology (FAST) system health checks across access control (Lenel OnGuard), video surveillance (Milestone, Avigilon, Lenel), and intrusion detection systems. Manages badge creation/activations, monthly walk-tests (panic buttons, cage/vault devices, emergency doors), monthly Security Metrics, SharePoint facility updates, emergency call lists, and municipal operating/alarm permits. Loss Prevention, Process Governance & Investigations (15%) Establishes and governs operational processes around high-risk inventory areas (cage, vault, receiving/shipping docks) to mitigate shrinkage and theft risk.

Assists site leaders, Global Security, HR, Ethics & Compliance, and Legal with security investigations. Conducts mid-level loss and theft investigations, reviews incidents to reduce losses, recovers assets, and liaises with local law enforcement agencies. Employee Education & Safety (15%) Assists in the education of management teams and staff on security roles and responsibilities, effective security awareness, threat assessment, and WPV prevention.

Chairs the site Security Committee and leads monthly security meetings. In partnership with site leadership and EHS, participates in crisis management tabletop exercises. Monitors neighborhood and environmental risk factors (e.g., high crime area dynamics, union visits) to ensure site resilience and rebuild workforce safety confidence

Qualifications Bachelor's degree and/or High School diploma preferred. 4+ years of experience in related field, preferred. Advanced degree and/or professional certification (CPP, PSP, etc.) preferred

Prior supervisory experience managing contracted guard forces in a supply chain or distribution environment preferred. Understanding and experience in Enterprise Security Risk Management practices and their successful implementation. Functional knowledge and experience in developing, implementing, maintaining, and managing security/safety policies and procedures is required.

Experience conducting physical security risk assessments in distribution and warehouse environments. Experience developing, implementing, and managing security awareness training programs and materials. Security, investigations, and contract security services management within the supply chain or pharmaceutical industry is preferred.

Working knowledge of Supply Chain Security principles with demonstrated ability to work with government and law enforcement agencies. Technical ability to work and collaborate with contract security vendors, government officials, consultants, and other third-party stakeholders. Must have collaborative skills to achieve desired results in a highly matrixed work environment.
