Description
Overlooking the stunning Hudson River in the city of Poughkeepsie, NY, Vassar Brothers Medical Center (VBMC) is a 350-bed facility that has served the people of the Mid-Hudson Valley since 1887. A recent addition to the VBMC campus is the distinctively shaped Patient Pavilion featuring 294 private patient rooms, a 30-room intensive care unit, a network of 13 surgical suites, and 66 exam and treatment rooms in the emergency and trauma center.
VBMC is part of Nuvance Health. This regional medical center is home to the area's first cardiothoracic surgery program located between Westchester County and Albany, NY. It also has the only Level III neonatal intensive care unit in the region.

Requirements
Responsibilities

Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department
Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
Pre-anesthesia assessment
Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
Performance of clinical intervention as needed
Requirements
M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
ECFMG and FLEX
Completion of approved residency in anesthesia
Currently licensed as a physician
