Job description


The Business Development Manager position will perform the following duties:
  • Will be covering the territories of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Southern Vermont, Southern New Hampshire, and the Albany, New York region, including surrounding areas.
  • Maintain established profit margins on accounts and manage monthly bid evaluations
  • Ensure delivery of products to customers to meet acceptable customer expectations
  • Establishes and maintains a profitable member base of assigned member accounts in conjunction with the Business Review Manager.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationship with members while promoting local and corporate entities.
  • Maintains and grows business with existing multi-unit customers.
  • Prospects for and sells new multi-unit customers where designated.
  • Maintain established profit margins on accounts and manage monthly bid evaluations
  • Ensure delivery of products to customers to meet acceptable customer expectations
  • Maintains relationships with vendor management within their region.
  • Implements new sales programs and strategies with member base
  • Is responsible for developing and achieving an annual business plan in conjunction with Business Review Manager.
  • Determines pricing strategies at appropriate profit margin levels
  • Monitors the competition
  • Communicate with customers and personnel regarding process issues
  • Keep adequate sales records and materials necessary to make professional sales presentations.
  • Maintains a strong working product knowledge, current product literature, and selling skills.
  • Informs management continually of current market conditions and competitive changes in the marketplace.
  • Attends branch sales meetings, seminars, and other designated meetings, and works with vendor management as directed by the Business Review Manager.
  • Reviews market analysis to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and discount rates and develops sales campaigns to accommodate goals of company.
  • Establishes yearly goals and objectives with each member in region using independent judgment and discretion.
  • Promotes and sells Preferred Vendor Programs to maximize optimum profitability.
  • Promotes and sells Corporate Brands.
  • Promotes and sells Marketing Programs.
  • Formulates and effectuates Company policy with respect to regional sales functions and manages region using independent judgment
  • Submits required reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Business Review Manager or other management.
  • Interfaces with Global Accounts to promote and increase both new and existing account penetration and discretion.
  • Required to travel as directed.

Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent
3+ years' Successful experience in Sales within the foodservice industry
Able to proficiently speak and present in front of large groups of customers.
Proficient with computer skills
Valid drivers license
Clean driving history
Able to provide required motor vehicle insurance.
Will be covering the territories of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Southern Vermont, Southern New Hampshire, and the Albany, New York region, including surrounding areas. This role requires extensive regional travel.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Sales / Marketing or related area
2+ years' leadership/team management experience within foodservice industry
