The Business Optimization Specialist partners with leaders across the enterprise to improve organizational effectiveness, accelerate strategic initiative execution, and optimize how work is performed across teams. This role combines organizational development expertise with enterprise-wide change enablement, operating model improvement, workforce capability development, and organizational performance enhancement to help the organization achieve long-term business objectives.

The successful candidate will work across functional boundaries to align organizational structures, governance, workforce capabilities, leadership practices, and ways of working to support strategic priorities and operational excellence.

Core Functions of the Role

Organizational Effectiveness & Enterprise Alignment

  • Assess organizational structures, governance models, and decision-making frameworks to improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Partner with leaders to align organizational capabilities with strategic priorities.
  • Facilitate the design and implementation of operating models that improve collaboration, accountability, and execution.
  • Evaluate organizational barriers that impact performance and recommend sustainable solutions.
  • Support restructuring, role design, and workforce alignment initiatives.
  • Support a people-centered approach to transformation by addressing resistance, enabling learning, and sustaining new behaviors beyond implementation

Strategic Initiative Enablement

  • Partner with executive and functional leaders to support implementation of enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Develop stakeholder engagement strategies to increase adoption of new processes, technologies, and business practices.
  • Facilitate organization readiness assessments and implementation planning.
  • Monitor adoption metrics and identify opportunities to improve outcomes and sustain results.
  • Support large-scale organizational change efforts through structured planning and execution.

Organizational Performance Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve organizational efficiency, effectiveness, and workforce productivity.
  • Conduct organizational diagnostics, including health assessments, workforce analysis, and culture/readiness evaluations to identify root causes of performance challenges
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to improve cross-functional processes and organizational workflows.
  • Develop performance measurement approaches that link organizational outcomes to strategic objectives.
  • Use data and analytics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities impacting organizational performance.
  • Recommend actions that strengthen execution, accountability, and operational consistency.

Leadership & Capability Development

  • Design and deliver leadership development strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Create workforce capability and competency frameworks that support future business needs.
  • Facilitate leadership alignment sessions, team effectiveness workshops, and organizational planning activities.
  • Facilitate prioritization and resource alignment to ensure focus on high-impact, strategically aligned work
  • Support succession planning and critical workforce readiness initiatives.
  • Develop strategies to build organizational adaptability and resilience.

Standards, Governance & Adoption

  • Establish governance frameworks that support organizational consistency and effective decision-making.
  • Partner with business leaders to standardize practices, roles, and responsibilities across organizations.
  • Develop implementation and adoption plans for new organizational standards and methodologies.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by reinforcing sustainable organizational practices.
  • Establish and monitor success metrics (KPIs), adoption measures, and feedback loops to reinforce behavior change and continuous improvement
  • Track and report on organizational performance, adoption, and effectiveness metrics.

  • Experience working in regulated or asset-intensive industries such as energy, utilities, engineering, manufacturing, or infrastructure.
