Primary Duties:

Responsible for guiding the implementation and sustainability of the Boise Improvement Cycle (BIC) processes, as well as the related data collection and analysis software and processes for manufacturing facilities within a region.

Essential Functions:

  • Supports the initial implementation and ongoing sustainability of BIC activities in the region.
  • Equips plant and department management and regularly coaches them to continually improve their processes using BIC tools: comprehensive and accurate data collection and analysis, identification and prioritization of top value opportunities, development and execution of action plans, and ongoing deployment of resources to effectively and permanently solve problems to continually attain and sustain improvements.
  • Advises management on staffing levels and qualifications needed to adequately sustain BIC activities at a high level throughout the organization.
  • Actively assists region/plant management in the professional development of region and plant BIC personnel to support future needs in the organizational structure.
  • Develops and implements training scenarios to continually refresh and hone BIC skills at all levels in the manufacturing organization.
  • Provides training support as needed to assure qualified local trainers are able to equip key personnel at all levels to properly utilize BIC tools.
  • Contributes to and coordinates with linear program optimization models and other analytical decision support tools designed to further the division's attainment of best possible manufacturing configuration, product mix and raw material procurement.
  • Develops region’s strategic plans. Helps develop and/or evaluate capital plans and AFE requests to determine whether expenditures add value. Investigates, studies, and evaluates projects, and writes (or assist plants to write) justifications for capital expenditures involving plant and equipment.
  • Leads regular BIC audits, including following up on actions to further improve processes and sharing of best practices as appropriate.
  • Locates, deploys, and supervises such external consulting resources as may be necessary to further the BIC process.

Basic Qualifications:

  • College degree or equivalent work experience in related in job function.
  • Must have at least seven (7) years combined experience in both line and staff manufacturing positions.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to comprehend mechanical, electrical and instrumentation systems with operations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of industrial costs and their control.
  • Ability to contribute to both strategic long term and tactical implementation activities.

Compensation: $100,000-$150,000
