Job Overview:
The Director Business Development will have regular meetings with Customer's representatives to review, identify & pursue business opportunities. Coordination of meetings between clients and company senior management. Ad hoc meetings to monitor company competitors and assist with identifying possible partnering opportunities. Coordinate for Periodic dialog with internal key experts to be aware of and promote company products (sustainability, digitalization, etc...) in conjunction with chosen business opportunities.
Responsibilities
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate sales with the business unit and customer (project management and priority), such as organizing meetings, customer visits, etc.
  • Contract management (in the commercial side, follow-up, and knowledge about the contract terms)
  • Customer expertise and relationship (organization, decision makers, project approval procedure/status)
  • Development of sales plan/strategy for each project working with the project manager and commercial team to execute
  • Assist Business Group to maintain existing relationships and capture more business opportunities from the same customers
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, including proactive involvement in the sales/pricing strategy and leading the business risk analysis
  • Establish strong relationships with regional sales representatives and other business groups
  • In consultation with other team members, decide on the sales strategy for individual proposals and ensure adequate staffing of the proposal effort is in place
  • Assist in developing/implementing growth strategies for the business group - Implement marketing plan for an innovative sales approach
  • Coordinate proposal risk analysis and present overall Risk Review to management
  • Closely review contract terms and conditions and coordinate reviews with the legal and financial department
  • Own and lead the implementation, enforcement, and verification of compliance with all McDermott policies and procedures
  • Ensure employees understand their responsibility and authority to effectively implement the requirements of all McDermott policies and procedures
  • Ensure the timely completion of all mandatory training by themselves and their teams
  • Maintain and expand company contacts and market presence to provide company with the best opportunity of securing business by tender or single source
  • Responsible to develop and maintain strong and enduring relationships with Clients throughout the life of a prospect/project securing a reputation of being a leading provider of technologies, solutions and contracting services to the offshore oil & gas industry
  • Accountable to develop best possible relationship with all stakeholders (clients, competitors, potential partners, and consultants as appropriate) to develop strategies that will enhance the chances of winning targeted projects.
  • Represent company in selected country(ies) / area(s)
  • Assist in the set-up of legal entities as required for the targeted project(s)

Qualifications
Essential Qualifications and Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related disciplines
  • Minimum of 15 years' experience in Oil & Gas industry in Sales & BD capacity
  • Excellent communicator with excellent written and oral communication skills required
  • Must have a high degree of self-motivation and energy and be able to earn the respect of our team
  • Must have a strong knowledge of various cultures and international styles
  • Strong commercial savvy and negotiating skills needed
  • Excellent knowledge of the oil & gas industry, the marketplace, the clients and competitors.
  • Experience in EPCI for SURF market
  • Good understanding of company worldwide project experience, technologies and capabilities.
  • Commercial awareness of contracts conditions and implications
  • Effective communicator with client, consortium / JV partners, executive management, project team, and vendors
  • Operational experience as PM/PD is a plus.
