Job description

Director, Amazon Marketplace
Consumer Products

Are you the kind of Amazon Marketplace leader who knows Seller Central inside and out and gets excited about owning an eight-figure Amazon business from strategy all the way down to the details?
Would you like to join a well-established consumer products company with decades of success that's experiencing significant growth within a unique area of the home décor and lighting industry?
This is a company with patented products, a growing portfolio of innovative lighting concepts, and an opportunity to stand apart in a category that's traditionally seen very little true innovation.
Do you thrive on growing revenue, improving profitability, optimizing advertising, managing inventory, and catching the small issues inside Seller Central that can have a big impact on performance?
This is a highly visible opportunity to join the company at an exciting stage of growth and take ownership of an already sizable Amazon business while helping shape where the channel goes next.
Does this sound like you?

Where Your Future Shines:
  • Compensation: $160,000
  • Hybrid position with Fridays working from home
  • Orange County, CA based company
  • High-visibility position reporting directly to senior leadership
  • Full ownership of a sizable Amazon Marketplace business
  • Opportunity to shape the long-term strategy and growth of the Amazon channel
  • Established consumer products company with decades of success
  • Entrepreneurial environment where you can own the strategy and the numbers behind it
Where You'll Make an Impact
  • Do you enjoy seeing the big picture while still knowing when a number, listing, campaign, or inventory report doesn't look right?
  • Own the Amazon channel P&L, including revenue growth, advertising efficiency, margin, forecasting, and budget
  • Develop and execute the multi-year strategy for Amazon while keeping it aligned with the broader eCommerce business
  • Identify opportunities to expand into new product categories, markets, and geographic regions
  • Serve as the primary owner of the company's Seller Central account
  • Keep product listings, variations, content, and catalog information accurate and optimized
  • Monitor Buy Box performance and quickly address issues impacting sales
  • Resolve suppressed listings, chargebacks, inventory shortages, deductions, reimbursement claims, and compliance issues
  • Develop the advertising strategy across Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display, and DSP
  • Plan and execute around Prime Day, Q4, deals, coupons, and other major Amazon promotional periods
  • Use Brand Analytics, search-term reporting, and competitive data to identify opportunities and improve market share
  • Own demand forecasting, restock cadence, inventory availability, IPI performance, and AWD where applicable
  • Keep top-performing SKUs in stock during critical promotional and high-traffic periods
  • Partner closely with marketing, finance, and operations to keep Amazon strategy connected to the broader business
  • Work with marketing on content and creative strategies that strengthen the brand and drive conversion
  • Direct outside agencies and partners, set expectations, review performance, and hold them accountable to results
  • Translate Amazon performance into clear reporting, forecasts, and recommendations for senior leadership

What Powers Your Success:
  • 5–10 years of experience running a sizable Amazon Seller Central business with true ownership of the channel
  • Proven experience owning the P&L for a brand generating eight figures or more in annual Amazon revenue
  • Deep hands-on experience within Seller Central, including suppressed listings, Buy Box issues, reimbursement claims, deductions, and account troubleshooting
  • Strong understanding of Amazon advertising, including Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, and Sponsored Display
  • Ability to diagnose whether advertising performance issues are related to bids, placement, targeting, creative, or the listing itself
  • Strong experience with Amazon inventory planning, forecasting, restocking, IPI, and maintaining availability during major promotional periods
  • Experience managing and holding outside Amazon agencies or partners accountable
  • Track record of successfully expanding into new categories, products, or markets
  • Strong financial and analytical skills with the ability to spot discrepancies and understand what's driving channel performance
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present strategy, forecasts, and performance directly to senior leadership
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership without heavy oversight
Preferred Experience:
  • Amazon DSP and/or Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC)
  • Amazon Warehousing & Distribution (AWD)
  • Background with established consumer products, home décor, housewares, lifestyle brands, or other high-volume consumer categories
  • Managing Amazon during Prime Day, Q4, major deal events, and promotional campaigns
  • Using Brand Analytics and search-term data to evaluate competitors and identify growth opportunities
  • Expanding an established Amazon business into new categories or international markets
