Job description

Position Summary...What you'll do...
  • Serve as a strategic analytics partner to senior functional and executive leaders (VPs, SVPs), providing consulting expertise to shape business strategy, innovation, and customer outcomes.
  • Translate customer and business needs into advanced analytics strategies, articulating insights about current and future customers to inform experience design, innovation, and advocacy across channels.
  • Lead advanced analytics initiatives for a moderately complex business area, category, or prototype, ensuring analytical approaches and solutions align to enterprise priorities.
  • Direct the development and deployment of data models across all analytics projects, guiding the creation of new modeling algorithms by evaluating industry trends and emerging methodologies.
  • Oversee production‑ready analytics solutions, including complex algorithms and proofs of concept, and present them to cross‑functional partners (e.g., Engineering, Merchandising, Category Management) to drive adoption and buy‑in.
  • Evaluate and apply emerging analytics tools and techniques (e.g., machine learning, natural language processing) to advance prototype development and scalable solutions.
  • Guide data collection and analysis strategies, ensuring analytical rigor, appropriate team structures, and iteration models to solve complex business challenges.
  • Collaborate across analytics and business leadership, aligning data and insight strategies to business priorities and category performance.
  • Build and sustain strong cross‑functional partnerships across the organization (e.g., Categories, Customer Experience, Merchandising), ensuring alignment, shared ownership, and implementation of recommendations.
  • Develop and coach analytics leaders and associates, providing mentoring, feedback, and growth opportunities while identifying and building emerging capabilities needed for future success.
  • Set strategic direction for the function by analyzing business objectives, customer needs, costs, forecasts, and operational performance, while driving continuous improvement and measurable outcomes.
  • Attract, develop, and retain top analytics talent, leading workforce planning, succession strategies, and capability development to maintain a highly skilled and engaged organization.
  • Model and uphold Walmart’s values, embedding integrity, ethics, and the Open Door culture into all programs, decisions, and leadership practices.
  • Leverage internal and external partnerships to advance business goals, representing the organization in key stakeholder engagements and industry or community initiatives.

Hoboken, New Jersey US-10279: The annual salary range for this position is $156,000.00 - $312,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
