Overview of the Production Planner position:
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Production Planner in a direct hire capacity. This pivotal role involves orchestrating production schedules, coordinating materials, and ensuring seamless operations across the supply chain. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in production management, ERP systems, and process improvement to optimize manufacturing workflows, enhance efficiency, and uphold quality standards. Responsibilities of the Production Planner:
- Develop and maintain detailed production schedules aligned with customer demands, inventory levels, and capacity constraints.
- Utilize SAP, MRP (Material Requirements Planning), and other ERP systems to plan, monitor, and adjust production activities.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure timely procurement of materials and adherence to production timelines.
- Analyze supply chain data and manufacturing metrics to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
- Coordinate with plant management on capacity planning, resource allocation, and workflow optimization.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying waste reduction opportunities and implementing best practices.
- Monitor production progress, resolve scheduling conflicts, and communicate updates effectively across departments.
- Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and reconciliation activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects focused on process efficiency, quality control, and operational excellence.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in production planning or operations management within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP or similar platforms; experience with MRP is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, process improvement methodologies, and supply chain analytics.
- Mechanical knowledge or background in plant management is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration across departments.
- Knowledge of quality control standards and assembly processes within manufacturing settings.
