Our expertise is strongest within the Retail, Food amp; Beverage, Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), and OEM verticals, where we continue to build long-term partnerships and drive meaningful growth for our customers.
Job purpose
As an Account Manager at Transportation One, you'll own a portfolio of customer accounts focused on driving volume growth, expanding share of wallet, and strengthening long-term customer relationships.
You'll serve as the primary point of contact for your customers, manage quoting activity, identify new opportunities within existing accounts, and partner closely with Operations, Carrier Sales, and Enterprise Account Managers to deliver results.
This is a customer-facing, growth-oriented role for someone who enjoys building relationships, understands the freight market, and wants to play a direct role in growing both customer accounts and the business.
Duties and responsibilities
  • Growing assigned accounts through increased volume, margin, and share of wallet
  • Building and maintaining strong customer relationships
  • Managing and executing spot quote opportunities
  • Developing account growth strategies and identifying new opportunities within existing customers
  • Leading customer calls, business reviews, and relationship-building activities
  • Providing proactive recommendations around capacity, lane strategy, and market conditions
  • Partnering closely with Operations and Carrier Sales to deliver exceptional customer experiences
  • Maintaining pipeline activity and account opportunities within HubSpot
  • Supporting customer scorecard performance and account health
  • Contributing to the success of the pod you are in

Qualifications
  • 1+ years of freight brokerage or 3PL experience
  • Previous Account Management, Customer Operations, Client Operations, or sales-focused brokerage experience
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to quote, negotiate, and grow accounts
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
  • Coachable, ambitious, and motivated to continue growing your career
  • Experience working cross-functionally with customers, operations, and carrier-facing teams

Compensation
Compensation for this role will range between 60,000-65,000 + commission.
Working conditions
General office environment. Work is generally performed in a seated position with a high volume of computer screen reading, but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard equipment available.
