Cascade Engineering Technologies- Dimensional Engineer
Cascade Engineering Technologies is a precision aerospace manufacturing company serving both defense and commercial markets. Located in Canby, Oregon, we specialize in high-quality machining solutions that support critical aerospace applications.
Job Overview
The Dimensional Engineer is responsible for ensuring product quality and manufacturability through the analysis and control of dimensional data. This role focuses on evaluating measurement results, identifying variation trends, and driving data-informed decisions to improve processes and product performance.
Key responsibilities include reviewing and interpreting dimensional inspection data to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and tolerances. The Dimensional Engineer develops and implements inspection plans, including defining measurement methods, sampling strategies, and validation requirements. Marking parts for rework and creating rework plans and routing through the required operations.
In collaboration with manufacturing, quality, and design teams, this role identifies opportunities for process improvement based on data analysis. The Dimensional Engineer plays a critical role in root cause analysis, variation reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives, helping to optimize production processes and ensure consistent product quality.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Plan and define inspection operations to meet customer requirements and engineering
• Documentation of First Article Inspections and disposition
• Prepare and collect statistical data (PiWeb)
• Responsible for reading and interpreting customer specifications, drawings and other engineering requirements.
• Both manual and visual inspection of machined and assembled parts using customer provided engineering
• Use of hand tool for inspections. Such as Micrometer, Calipers, Pin gage, Depth Gage etc.
• Supplier Certification Verification to ensure they meet supplied engineering
• Certification and Acceptance of product
• Document non-conformances and initiate corrective actions.
• Disposition of rework parts, including rework plan and ROI
• Other duties as assigned.
• Requires weekend and off shift support as needed.
Requirements
• BS or equivalent experience required.
• 3-5 years in casting and or quality engineering position strongly encouraged.
• Casting & Machining Experience required.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products. Mini Tab or other statistical software.
• Ability to use inspection tools such as micrometer, calipers, pin gage, depth gage etc...
• Strong understanding of Print Reading and GD&T
• Solid Works and Poly Works
Able to review and understand CMM data (Zeiss Calypso)
• Team orientated
• Ability to Work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Detailed oriented.
