Description
Dimensional Engineering Intern - Vehicle Launch Support
The Dimensional Engineering Intern - Vehicle Launch Support will support a Karma vehicle program during early production builds by performing dimensional validation, measurement analysis, and root cause investigation. This role plays a critical part in ensuring fit, function, and quality during the most sensitive phases of vehicle launch.
The internship offers hands-on exposure to launch-quality execution, real-time problem solving, and cross-functional collaboration within Dimensional Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.
Internship Objectives
Launch Quality & Risk Reduction
  • Validate dimensional fit and function during early builds to reduce quality issues, rework, and late design changes.
  • Support rapid root cause identification and corrective action during launch events.

Production Readiness
  • Improve build stability and support a smooth production ramp-up by ensuring assemblies meet design intent.
  • Minimize downstream quality escapes and manufacturing disruptions.

Cross-Functional Impact
  • Work directly with Dimensional Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams for real-time issue resolution during build events.

Internship Details
  • Duration: 12 weeks
  • Timing: May/June start through August/September end

  • Support root cause investigations for fit, function, and quality issues.
  • Provide hands-on support during vehicle build events and launch activities.
  • Assist with documentation, data collection, and reporting related to dimensional issues.
  • Collaborate across engineering and manufacturing teams to support fast-paced launch execution.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, hands-on environments.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate across teams.

Preferred Qualification:
  • Exposure to dimensional engineering, GD&T, or measurement systems.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes or vehicle assembly.
  • Interest in vehicle launch activities, quality engineering, and production readiness.
