Abortion Forward is empowering a bold, people-centered movement to protect and expand reproductive rights across Ohio. We believe uplifting individual stories is one of the most powerful tools for advocacy, organizing, and culture change.
We are looking for a creative, energetic, and mission-driven Digital Content Creator to help amplify the voices, stories, and experiences that move people to action. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, loves engaging with people, feels comfortable on camera, and understands how to create compelling digital content that resonates online and in real life.
This is not a traditional communications role. We are looking for someone with strong instincts, a bold personality, and a passion for reproductive rights who can help bring our work to life across digital platforms and community spaces. SUMMARY

The DigitalContent Creatorwill support the Communications Department by creatingengaging, mission-driven digital content that advances Abortion Forward's advocacy, organizing, and public education efforts.

This individual will help tell the stories behind the movement through:

Content Creation& Narrative Crafting

  • Create engaging digital content for social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, and other emerging platforms.
  • Film, edit, and produceshort-form videos, reels, interviews, and advocacy-focusednarrativecrafting.
  • Capture content at events, rallies, canvases, trainings, and community activities.
  • Support development of creative campaigns that increase engagement and visibility for Abortion Forward initiatives.
  • Design eye-catching, clean, and clear email newsletters and email calls-to-action using content from the Executive Director, Deputy Director, Communications Director, Development Department, and Field Department.
  • Upliftcommunity voices and personal stories in a respectful, mission-aligned manner.

Social Media & Digital Engagement

  • Attend organizational events, political, andcommunity activities as needed.
  • Conduct interviews or conversations with volunteers, supporters, advocates, and community members.
  • Help communicate complex reproductiverightsissues in accessible, compelling ways.
  • Serve as an energetic and positive ambassador for the organization online and in community spaces.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Passion for reproductiverights, social justice, and advocacy work.
  • Knowledge of reproductive rights and health topics from a DEI&B-informed perspectiverequired.
  • Comfortable being on camera and engaging with people in public-facing settings.
  • A strong online portfolio or examples of short-form video contentrequired.
  • Experience with Canva,CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar toolsrequired.
  • Experience with creating short-form video content (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube shorts, etc.) with significant engagement preferred.
  • Strong videography and editing skills using in-app tools or external softwarerequired.
  • Basic lighting, audio, and framing awareness.
  • Understanding of social media trends, algorithms, hooks, pacing, captions, and audience engagementrequired.
  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Office suiterequired.
  • Excellentverbal and written communication skillsrequired.
  • Self-motivated and creativewith a passion foreducating.
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to workquickly but also with attention to detail.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time,non-exempt position. The role is expected to meet the demands of the position, which typically align with a 40-hour work week, recognizing that hours may vary based on programmatic and organizational needs. Core collaboration hours are 12:00 pm 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with flexibilityrequiredoutside of these hours, including some evenings and occasional weekends.

The role requires:
