ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Staff Product Manager, Digital Manga to lead strategy, vision, and roadmap development for our digital manga business. Reporting to the Director of Product Management, Flywheel & Ecosystem, you will oversee end-to-end product experiences across mobile, web, and cross-platform integrations with an eye towards supporting user growth and engagement within the platform. We are seeking someone experienced in digital media, and accomplished at building global, scalable products that blend content and commerce--and if you passion for manga that's even better!

This Product Manager plays an important role in shaping the future of how fans experience manga digitally at Crunchyroll. It will work at the intersection of content, technology, and fandom with one of the largest anime and manga communities in the world.
This is a hybrid position based in Los Angeles.
We work a hybrid schedule, in-office three days a week; Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

We're on a mission to create anime-centered products that delight subscribers and bring fans closer to the stories, characters, and communities they love.

Our Digital Manga Product Management team is shaping the future of digital manga at Crunchyroll. In close partnership with our business and marketing teams, we guide the product roadmap that delivers a world-class digital manga reading experience to our passionate fan base.

IN THE ROLE

  • Define the north star vision for the digital manga product within the broader streaming and fandom ecosystem.
  • Develop the multi-year roadmap that integrates manga reading experiences, monetization models (subscription, microtransactions, bundles), cross-platform user journeys, and regional expansion.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering and development partners to turn a strong Product vision into reality by defining requirements, shaping scalable solutions, and delivering high-quality experiences that delight manga fans worldwide.
  • Partner with executives and cross-functional leaders to align product strategy with business growth goals and fan engagement objectives.
  • Collaborate with Product Management partners to create seamless discovery and crossover journeys between streaming, store, and manga products
  • Partner with lifecycle marketing, CRM, and commerce to enable cross-sell, upsell, and retention campaigns.
  • Define and track success metrics: engagement, retention, conversion, ARPU, opt-ins, etc.
  • Continuously identify new growth opportunities through emerging technologies, user feedback, and competitive analysis.
  • Lead Large, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Possess a desire to move initiatives forward.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 7+ years of product management experience.
  • Proven track record building and scaling consumer-facing digital products (media, publishing, e-commerce preferred).
  • Strong understanding of monetization models (subscriptions, microtransactions, digital storefronts).
  • Experience with global launches including localization, compliance, and regional user behavior differences.
  • Background in cross-platform ecosystems (streaming, games, apps).
  • Familiarity with structured data, personalization systems, or recommendations APIs.
  • Strong data acumen with ability to design experiments and drive insight-driven strategy.
