Highland Community College is seeking a dynamic and student-focused professional to serve as Esports and Digital Media Coordinator. This position supports the growth and daily operations of the esports program while assisting with the production and streaming of athletic events and campus activities.

This role is essential in ensuring high-quality event coverage, effective student supervision, and the ability to manage overlapping schedules across athletics and esports. The successful candidate will contribute to student engagement, recruitment, and retention through both competitive esports and multimedia initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Esports Program Support

  • Assist with the coordination and supervision of esports practices and competitions
  • Support recruitment and retention of esports student-athletes
  • Monitor and maintain the esports facility, equipment, and scheduling
  • Provide mentorship and oversight to esports participants
  • Ensure compliance with institutional and league guidelines

Multimedia Production

  • Assist in live streaming and recording of athletic events and campus activities
  • Support video production for the athletics website and social media platforms
  • Assist with setup, operation, and breakdown of production equipment
  • Contribute to planning and execution of multimedia projects
  • Follow established branding, policies, and production procedures

Student Supervision & Operations

  • Supervise and coordinate student workers during events and productions
  • Assist in scheduling coverage for concurrent athletics and esports events
  • Troubleshoot technical and operational issues as they arise
  • Collaborate with coaches, staff, and campus partners
  • Support coverage of high-demand events and special campus activities

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree required
  • Demonstrated experience or strong interest in esports, athletics, or multimedia production
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in a related field
  • Experience in collegiate athletics, esports programs, or live event production
  • Familiarity with streaming software, video editing tools, and production equipment
  • Experience supervising or mentoring students

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations

Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record with no major infractions in the past five years.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand, walk, and communicate for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and move equipment (10โ€“25 lbs regularly; up to 75 lbs occasionally)
  • Ability to work on ladders for equipment setup and production needs

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work performed in both indoor and outdoor settings
