Digital Marketing Manager - Morries Auto Group

MORRIES AUTOMOTIVE GROUP

Job description

Morrie's Auto Group is looking for a hands-on Digital Marketing Manager to help strengthen the digital performance of our 32 dealerships across the Upper Midwest. This role is built for someone who understands automotive digital marketing, knows how to turn data into clear action, and is excited about the way AI search, GEO, SEO, and SEM are changing how customers discover and choose dealerships.
This is not a campaign builder role. Our digital agencies will continue to execute much of the campaign setup and day-to-day platform management. This person will help Morrie's take back more control of the strategy, reporting, budget oversight, store-level diagnosis, and vendor accountability needed to make those campaigns work harder.
If the idea of digging into store performance, challenging vendor reporting, identifying where budget is being wasted or underutilized, and helping Morrie's become more visible in both traditional search and AI-generated answers excite you - this role was built for you.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
GEO, SEO & AI Search Visibility: Lead Morrie's internal focus on Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), and the changing SEO landscape. Monitor how Morrie's, our dealerships, and our key brands appear in Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity, local pack results, and other AI-assisted search environments.
Reporting & Intelligence: Help build Morrie's KPI framework and dashboard discipline. Using GA4, Vistadash, SEMRush and agency analysis, you turn "clicks and impressions" into actionable insight
Digital Performance Command: Support the digital performance of 32 dealerships by monitoring traffic, leads, conversion rate, VDP activity, paid search efficiency, organic visibility, local search performance, and budget pacing across stores, OEMs, and channels.
SEM & Budget Oversight: Partner with our vendors to review paid media strategy, identify underfunded or inefficient campaigns, watch for lost impression share, and help determine whether spend is aligned with store objectives, inventory needs, and market opportunity.
Store-Level Diagnosis: When a dealership is underperforming, dig into the data to help determine whether the issue is campaign strategy, budget, inventory, local visibility, website experience, tracking, lead quality, or store follow-up - then recommend a clear next step.
Vendor Accountability: Work closely with our digital partners to make sure campaigns, reporting, recommendations, and budget decisions are tied to Morrie's business objectives - not just vendor-defined metrics.
Website & Conversion Partnership: Partner with the Website Operations Manager on website performance, form paths, tracking accuracy, Google Business Profile signals, incentive presentation, digital retailing flow, SEO/GEO content needs, and conversion opportunities.
WHO YOU ARE
Automotive Digital Marketer: You understand the dealership world and can speak the language of VDPs, CPL, inventory, OEM requirements, Google Business Profile, local search, paid search, lead funnels, and vendor reporting.
GEO-Curious and Search-Forward: You are paying attention to how AI is changing search. You may not have all the answers yet, but you are curious, proactive, and ready to help Morrie's build a practical GEO playbook before the market fully catches up.
Data-Driven Operator: You use data to understand what is happening, identify what needs attention, and recommend where Morrie's should adjust strategy, spend, content, or vendor direction.
Agency Liaison: You know how digital agencies and automotive vendors operate. You can partner respectfully, spot a surface-level report, ask better questions, and push partners toward measurable business outcomes.
Hands-On Problem Solver: You are comfortable rolling up your sleeves, digging into dashboards, reviewing campaigns, checking search visibility, validating tracking, and helping figure out what is really happening when performance shifts.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of digital marketing experience, preferably with a significant portion in the Automotive Industry.
  • Automotive dealership group, OEM, Tier 2/Tier 3, or automotive agency/vendor experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of SEM, SEO, local search, Google Business Profile, GA4, Google Search Console, website conversion, and paid media performance.
  • Clear understanding of GEO, AEO, AI search, structured data, content authority, local visibility, and how customer search behavior is changing.
  • Experience analyzing campaign performance, budget pacing, paid search impression share, conversion trends, lead quality, and store-level marketing results.
  • Ability to build or maintain dashboards, scorecards, reporting frameworks, or recurring performance reviews using tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, Looker Studio, Power BI, GA4, or VistaDash.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex digital performance issues in a clear, practical, and action-oriented way.

WHY MORRIE'S
Morrie's Auto Group is one of the fastest-growing privately-owned dealership groups in the Midwest, with 30+ dealerships across Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, and Nebraska.
