Job description

Position Summary
As an Instructional Designer supporting our Life Sciences team, you will develop engaging instructor-led and digital learning solutions that translate complex technical content into impactful training programs. Working closely with subject matter experts and our Director of Training, you will design end-to-end learning experiences, including storyboarding, course development, learning objectives, and LMS administration, to support our Sales teams serving pharmaceutical manufacturers and research laboratories.

This is a hybrid role with the requirement of working onsite at our Mentor, OH Corporate HQ, 2 days per week. (Tuesday & Thursday)

What You'll do as an Instructional Designer
  • Design and develop instructor-led, virtual, and eLearning training programs aligned to business and technical needs
  • Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather content and translate it into effective learning experiences
  • Apply adult learning principles and instructional design best practices to create engaging, learner-centered content
  • Develop training materials including facilitator guides, participant materials, job aids, and digital learning assets
  • Collaborate with the Training team to evaluate learning effectiveness and continuously improve programs
  • Ensure consistency and quality across all training deliverables, aligning with organizational standards
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing priorities and timelines in a fast-paced environment
  • Support the rollout and adoption of training initiatives across the Life Sciences organization
The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Human Resources, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in instructional design, training development, or a similar role
  • Demonstrated experience designing both instructor-led and digital learning solutions
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working cross-functionally
  • Ability to translate complex technical content into clear, engaging training materials
  • Proficiency with instructional design tools and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Teams

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting training in a Life Sciences, healthcare, or technical services environment
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate)
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE)
  • Experience conducting training needs assessments and evaluating program effectiveness
  • Strong visual design skills and ability to create engaging digital learning content
  • Certification in instructional design, learning & development, or related discipline

Pay range for this opportunity is $65,000 - $88,000. This position is eligible for bonus participation.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
