This will be a part-time, limited term assignment. We will partner with the student and college to review hours/schedule expectations
The Digital Marketing & Communications Fall Intern supports the Communications Department through end-to-end graphic design, digital content creation, event coverage, and administrative support. This role will assist with creating polished visual materials for community needs, supporting social media and digital communication efforts, and attending community events to help capture photos, videos, and other content for future use. We are looking for someone with a strong creative eye, solid digital design skills, and the ability to help bring community stories and communications to life through thoughtful, well-executed content.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Graphic Design
Assist with end-to-end graphic design projects for community communications, events, social media, and promotional needs.
Create polished graphics and visual content using Canva and other digital tools, with a focus on brand consistency, strong design execution, and visual storytelling.
Bring a thoughtful creative eye to layout, messaging, and overall presentation, producing materials that feel elevated and on-brand.
Support the preparation of communication drafts, digital updates, and other content as needed.
Event Support
Attend community events to help capture photos, videos, and social media content for future marketing, storytelling, recaps, and promotional use.
Support event-related content needs, including social media highlights, reels, short-form videos, and visual recaps.
Administrative Tasks
Assist with organizing communication files, media assets, photos, videos, graphics, and project materials.
Support general communications projects and department needs as assigned by the Communications Director.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Familiarity with HOA operations, systems, and governance processes
- Experience supporting community engagement initiatives and events
- Development of professional communication and organizational skills
- Understanding of compliance procedures and community standards
- Exposure to administrative workflows, resident services practices, and operational planning
- Potential academic credit (subject to school approval)
- Flexible scheduling available to accommodate class commitments
- Consideration for extended internship or future employment based on performance
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical requirements can vary, but generally, they may include:
- Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods during site visits, meetings, or office tasks
- Capability to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds (e.g., event supplies, signage, small equipment)
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to climb stairs and navigate multi-level properties or facilities
- Manual dexterity to operate computers, phones, and office equipment
- Visual and auditory acuity to observe property conditions, read documents, and communicate effectively
- Must maintain a valid drivers license when travel is necessary. (Please note: If driving is part of your job, we will request and review an MVR at the time of hire and on a periodic basis thereafter to ensure that employees maintain a satisfactory driving status.)
