Job description

Overview

The Senior Librarian, Digital Asset Management (DAM), is an individual contributor who will lead governance, image taxonomy, and operational excellence for Sprouts’ enterprise DAM (Aprimo), ensuring product and creative assets are structured, accessible, and aligned to business needs across eCommerce and Marketing.

This role sits within the Online Merchandising & Catalog team and acts as a critical connector between business stakeholders and our system integrator, driving the evolution of DAM from a legacy repository into a strategic capability that enables speed, scale, personalization, and high-quality digital experiences. #LI-AD1

Overview of ResponsibilitiesDAM Governance & Strategy
  • Establish, evolve, & enforce DAM governance frameworks, policies, and standards across product and creative assets
  • Define and operationalize metadata schema, taxonomy, and naming conventions aligned to business use cases
  • Partner with Legal and stakeholders to ensure usage rights, licensing, and compliance standards are defined and enforced
  • Develop governance documentation, training materials, and adoption programs to drive enterprise DAM usage and compliance
  • Act as steward of DAM best practices, driving consistency across teams and functions
Asset Management & Operations
  • Own day-to-day DAM operations, ensuring assets are accurately ingested, tagged, and maintained
  • Oversee application of metadata, keywords, and controlled vocabulary to improve asset discoverability
  • Define and manage asset lifecycle standards, including creation, versioning, archival, retention, and retirement processes.
  • Audit assets regularly to ensure adherence to governance standards and data quality expectations ; coach when needed
  • Manage user roles, permissions, and access controls across the organization
Cross-Functional Enablement
  • Partner with the system integrator to define requirements, enhancements, and roadmap priorities
  • Translate business needs into DAM capabilities, integrations, and workflows
  • Support integration with eCommerce systems, PIM, CMS, CRM, and other downstream platforms
  • Build and manage a quarterly DAM roadmap with clear prioritization and measurable outcomes
Data, Reporting & Optimization
  • Establish KPIs for DAM performance (e.g., asset reuse, search success, metadata completeness)
  • Monitor system usage, adoption, and asset performance; identify opportunities to improve asset reuse, speed-to-market, operational efficiency, and overall DAM effectiveness

Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • 5–8+ years in Digital Asset Management, Library Science, Information Science, or related field
  • 3+ years developing and managing enterprise metadata schemas, taxonomies and governance frameworks.
  • Hands‑on experience with enterprise DAM platforms (Aprimo preferred)
  • Experience managing both product and creative asset ecosystems
  • Experience supporting enterprise marketing, merchandising, ecommerce, and creative organizations
  • Experience managing digital rights, licensing, and asset usage compliance
