Business Analyst (IT)
Direct Hire
Richmond, VA (MUST be onsite 3 days per week)
**Top Needs are someone who has evaluated COTS products and help implement them across a large org. Next, someone who can communicate effectively with C level, high level stakeholders. Develop rapport, build relationships, etc.

Essential Functions:
Business Analysis:
Facilitate business case creation with Project Sponsors and Stakeholders.
Analyze current state and business requirements for desired future state to help provide a total picture of functionality required for the solution to be delivered by IT.
Collaborate with tech leads to document technical requirements that augment the tech standards
Conduct stakeholder analysis including:
o Elicits and documents requirements with internal client departments, and Technology.
o Develops use cases and/or process models as needed.
o Develop user stories and business process diagrams as needed.
Researches competitive landscape to provide fact-based recommendations to the stakeholders.
Stays current with customer needs utilizing formal and informal written communication methods (for example, emails, surveys, focus groups, portal updates, etc.
Collaborates with team members to articulate and document ideas and viewpoints to senior management, peers and others.
Conducts SaaS product assessments, demonstrations, cost analysis and prepare executive level presentation of findings.
Prepares firm-wide communications articulating business need, solution benefits and actions required to fully deploy solution to users.
Analyze business processes for organizational efficiencies, operations, procedures, and protocols.
Meets face to face with lawyers and department chairs to ensure IT projects meet the practice of law needs.
Presents to diverse audiences including technical teams, attorneys and senior leadership.
Identifies ways to increase adoption and sponsor satisfaction.
Demonstrates up-to-date expertise information technology and applies this to project analysis, communications and implementations.
Supplemental Functions:
Keeps abreast of industry direction and innovations.
Serves on committees and task forces, and undertakes special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience working as a business analyst with key client stakeholders to define and document business processes including functional and technical system requirements.
5+ years leading projects, facilitating meetings with technical teams and senior leadership.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills and strong team orientation.
Willingness to explore new methods and innovative techniques to improve group and departmental results.
Experience with waterfall, iterative and agile methodologies.
Experience evaluating and recommending COTS products.
Ability to establish effective working relationships across organizational boundaries, to include the IT department, legal groups, general counsel and other administrative teams.
Ability to negotiate critical project factors with clients, peers and manager, and to work collaboratively.
