Role Summary

Our client, an advanced industrial technology organization, is seeking a DevOps Engineering Lead to drive the strategy, architecture, and delivery of modern DevOps practices across a global software engineering environment. This role is responsible for leading the development of scalable CI/CD pipelines, build systems, infrastructure automation, and platform engineering initiatives that support high-quality software delivery.

The DevOps Engineering Lead will provide technical leadership, mentor a team of DevOps engineers, collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, and establish best practices for software release automation, infrastructure management, and system reliability. This role offers a clear path toward senior engineering and technology leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and execute the long-term DevOps and platform engineering strategy.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of DevOps engineers, supporting technical growth and career development.
  • Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to improve software delivery efficiency and quality.
  • Architect and maintain infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
  • Drive adoption of containerization technologies and modern deployment practices.
  • Monitor build performance, automation metrics, and system reliability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with software engineering, quality assurance, and infrastructure teams to improve development and release workflows.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience in DevOps, Build Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Platform Engineering, or a related software engineering discipline.
  • Strong experience designing, implementing, and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as TeamCity, Jenkins, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions.
  • Strong scripting or programming experience using Python, Kotlin, Ansible, or similar technologies.
  • Experience working with complex build systems, including CMake, Yocto, or Embedded Linux environments.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), automation, and release engineering best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot build, deployment, and infrastructure issues.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience leading or mentoring DevOps, Platform Engineering, or SRE teams.
  • Experience developing DevOps strategy and enterprise-scale automation initiatives.
