What is a development project coordinator?

A Development Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting and overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of development projects within an organization. This role typically involves coordinating tasks among team members, managing schedules and resources, tracking project progress, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget. Development Project Coordinators often communicate between different departments and stakeholders to facilitate smooth project operations and resolve issues as they arise. They play a crucial role in keeping projects organized, on track, and aligned with the organization's goals.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a development project coordinator?

To thrive as a Development Project Coordinator, you need strong organizational skills, project management knowledge, and typically a bachelor’s degree in a related field such as business or urban planning. Familiarity with project management software (such as MS Project or Asana), budgeting tools, and document management systems is often required. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills help you coordinate teams and manage stakeholder expectations. About ANS

At ANS, we’re not just a consulting engineering firm—we’re a team of trailblazers shaping the future of multi-disciplinary engineering. We’ve been voted Best Places to Work, ranked in the Top 10 the Hottest Firm in the US by Zweig Reports, and in the Top 250 for the 2024 Inc. 5,000 for our 1,748% 3-Year Growth. Our team is dynamic, energetic, and allergic to bureaucracy in our goal to solve problems and get things done. We’re data and metric driven, and we frequently question the “why” to build better processes.

We thrive on innovation, embrace a “best idea wins” culture, and value humility, ownership, and execution. If you excel in fast-moving environments and believe in the power of precision, this is the place for you.

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Coordinator to join our growing team. In this role, you will support day-to-day operational activities across the organization. You will assist in collecting and maintaining data, monitoring team inputs, and helping ensure accurate and timely reporting.

What You Will Do:
  • Technical Deliverable Coordination: Coordinate the tracking, scheduling, and status reporting of engineering deliverables across civil, structural, and electrical disciplines, including foundation and grading/drainage packages, racking and tracker system documentation, pile/pole load testing, and grounding and conductor/cable sizing deliverables.
  • Submittal QC Support: Review submittal packages against the Master Deliverables List (MDL) to confirm all required technical files are present, spot-check title blocks and revisions for accuracy, and flag discrepancies to Engineering and the Project Manager for correction.
  • Engineering Data & Documentation: Collect, organize, and maintain technical data, reports, and supporting documentation across disciplines—including geotechnical, structural (e.g., corrosion analysis), and electrical test records—to support engineering review and client reporting.
  • Cross-Functional Technical Liaison: Serve as a coordination point between Project Management and the Civil, Structural, and Electrical engineering teams to keep technical workstreams aligned, on schedule, and properly documented.
  • Operational Support: Provide day-to-day operational support across multiple service lines, helping teams stay organized, aligned, and on track.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve workflows and technical coordination processes, and support the implementation of more efficient, scalable ways of working as the team grows.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional team members to support communication, share updates, and help ensure operational and technical needs are met across projects.
  • Quality & Consistency: Help ensure consistent application of processes, attention to detail, and high standards of quality across technical and operational deliverables.

What We Are Looking For

  • 1–4+ years of experience in project operations, project coordination, or technical/engineering support, preferably within engineering, construction, or energy industries.
  • Exposure to project environments such as engineering, utility-scale solar, or similar industries, including familiarity with civil/geotechnical, structural, or electrical deliverables (e.g., foundation design, racking/tracker systems, grounding, cable sizing), is a plus.
  • Experience supporting technical deliverable tracking, KPI tracking, data management, reporting, or timesheet coordination preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related discipline) preferred; degrees in Business, Communications, or related fields also welcomed with relevant project operations or technical coordination experience.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple technical and operational priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Skilled communicator who thrives on teamwork and cross-functional collaboration with Engineering.
  • Innovative problem-solver with a passion for process improvement and operational excellence.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow within technical operations and contribute to building scalable, efficient team workflows.
  • Strong data analysis mindset with a focus on problem-solving.
WHY JOIN US
Innovation Focus: Lead and participate in cutting-edge renewable energy projects
Career Growth: Clear advancement pathways and leadership development opportunities
Impact: Shape the future of renewable energy infrastructure

Why ANS?
We’re not just building infrastructure—we’re building a culture. At ANS, you’ll join a team that values creativity, collaboration, and community. Whether you’re hosting a client lunch, troubleshooting a challenge, or celebrating a project win, you’ll be part of a company that believes relationships are the real bottom line.
