Job description

Purpose


The Construction Materials Technicianis responsible for the testing and inspection of Hot Mix Asphalt materials and aggregate that is used in construction and ensure that procedures and materials comply with specifications.


Job Responsibilities


  • Secure certifications that are pertinent to the areas of required job responsibilities
  • Perform standard testing on materials to ensure the material meets the required specifications
  • Obtain and/or prepare samples of materials for laboratory testing
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, as well as all testing equipment used
  • Assists other technicians as necessary to meet project time frames
  • Relays all testing information and data to Laboratory Manager


Education and Experience


  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience working in Microsoft Word, Excel, or equivalent programs and database management


Skills and Specifications


  • Knowledge of ASTM/AASHTO standard test methods.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience working effectively in a team environment (strong collaboration skills).
  • Must possess maturity, punctuality, responsibility, professionalism, dependability, and the ability to problem solve.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
